When Louie and Luna first arrived to STAR Rescue in Gainesville, Georgia, they were both suffering from a significant case of loneliness. On the other hand, as soon as they met one other, they clicked immediately and agreed they couldn’t live without one another.
They currently participate in practically all activities together, and they particularly like holding hands and kissing each other.
“Luna is a brown and orange Maine Coon and Louie is an orange tabby,” said their new owner James. “Luna is also a tabby.” When we adopted them, they quickly became quite attached to us and our family. They liked one another far more than they loved us.
James and his girlfriend were to the animal shelter in order to get a dog, but while they were there, they fell in love with two lovebug kittens.
We walked in with the intention of getting a dog, but James explained that due to the fact that we both have full-time jobs and live in apartments, we are away from home quite a bit, and dogs need a great deal more attention. We came to the decision that having a cat would be the better choice since I’ve always had cats and am acquainted with all of their requirements. This led us to the conclusion that obtaining a cat would be the better alternative.
When James’ fiancée fell head over heals in love with the two cats, particularly Luna, two weeks later, they were returned to the shelter. Luna was the one that caused the most grief.
They only wanted to have one cat, so they decided to get Luna. However, they couldn’t bear to give up Louie and ended up getting two.
They made the decision to provide foster care for Louie until Luna’s companion could also be adopted, and as a result, they brought both of the sleeping companions into their house. Despite this, it didn’t endure for very long, and in the end, they made the decision to retain Louie.
James made the observation that “we couldn’t let go of Louie after seeing how ‘at home’ they both were.” They have a lot of fun snoozing in close quarters together. They collaborate on all that they do.
James asserts that his feline companions are very grateful to be able to celebrate the holidays in their permanent home with one another.
According to James, rescued cats, especially those who have spent a significant amount of time in shelters, are more appreciative of their new owners when they are adopted. Over the past few days, you can find them dozing around our Christmas tree.
