The former Hollyoaks actress has spent the last two years, ever since the birth of her daughter Willow, feeling self-conscious about the baby weight she gained during her pregnancy.
Sophie’s body confidence suffered as a result of her inability to lose weight, which also made her anxiety symptoms worse. As a result, she was left wondering whether she would ever be able to become healthy again.
In the end, the responsibility of being a role model for Sophie’s kid was the impetus she needed to start taking ownership of her own physical well-being and become in better shape.
Sophie sought the expert advice of Ultimate Performance in the hopes that doing so would assist her in overcoming her feelings of self-doubt.
After a few months of personal training at UP – during which she had to struggle through a series of medical difficulties, which began with a gallbladder removal operation and culminated with sepsis – Sophie is feeling more comfortable and secure in her own skin than she ever has before. This is due to the fact that she has been able to overcome the challenges that she faced while doing her training.
Before life, as a parent truly took over for her and her fiancé, Shayne – who has also had a U.P. makeover – Sophie used to pursue an active lifestyle. However, after becoming a mom, she and her fiancé have both undergone a U.P. metamorphosis.
“I used to put in a lot of miles on my running shoes before I had my kid… The running of long distances.
During my pregnancy, I had a significant increase in my weight. It was a free-for-all, and I nearly ate enough food for four people.
“I always simply ate the things that were left over from Willow’s meals, or I would just end up eating biscuits for tea, thinking that I wasn’t having very much.
“Both I and my girlfriend, Shayne, were indulging in excessive eating and using our busy schedules as an explanation.
“However, after giving birth to my daughter, the weight did not go. I didn’t have time to go to the gym, so I was constantly completely spent.

Sophie is an actor, which means that she spends the bulk of her time in front of the camera. Despite the fact that she is a professional in the spotlight, Sophie claims that she has struggled her whole life with poor body confidence.
“I believe I just saw a picture of myself,” she said. I had made an effort to seem presentable, but I came off as really bewildered, and it appeared that I did not have much faith in myself.
“I believe that everyone struggles with the same anxieties. Everyone strives to choose an outfit in which they feel confident and attractive.
“People who are ready to be married, they want to appear as good as they possibly can on their wedding day. After having a kid, though, they want to get back to being themselves. They are trying to regain some of their independence.
“So, to answer your question, I don’t believe I ever felt particularly confident about what I looked like, even when I was much thinner than I am now.
“Even back then, my unhealthy eating habits prevented me from having a positive self-image. I wasn’t getting enough food in my diet. And then, obviously, eating an excessive amount. So I never felt like myself. And I believe that having control over yourself comes from having confidence.

Her lack of self-confidence spilled over into her training, making it difficult for her to focus. Sophie admits that before beginning her physical change at UP, she was experiencing apprehension about whether or not she would be able to accomplish her objectives.
“I distinctly recall being really anxious and thinking that there was no way I could do this task. The workouts are going to be impossible for me to complete. But they (the team from UP) were very encouraging, and there was no yelling or ‘Come on, you’ve got to do this!’ in any of their words. It was a really calm atmosphere.
“After each session, I walked away feeling really empowered and good about myself,” she said. “I remember feeling really good about myself.”
Sophie was able to quickly overcome all of her self-doubts after receiving some kind words of support and encouragement from her trainer, Jimmy.
“As the weeks progressed, all of a sudden it was like, ‘You know that you’ve been lifting this weight,'” said the trainer. And I was like, ‘What? Have I?”
It wasn’t like we needed to go to this or that, we just needed to get anywhere. It happened really slowly and progressively. Then all of a sudden I saw a difference in my body: it became more toned and sculpted, and the contours in my figure were more pronounced.
And so it was that Sophie set out to accomplish this very goal: she wanted to improve her fitness level while also drawing attention to the allure of her feminine form.
Sophie was taken aback when she realized that lifting weights might help her get all of the results she desired in such a short amount of time.
“Weight training has always gone hand in hand, in my experience, with being large and muscular, whether you’re a man or a woman, to do things like compete in huge tournaments. And at that moment, all that went through my head was, “I don’t want to look like that.”
“I didn’t want to get rid of my curves,” she said. I was determined not to let it go away. That was the most important thing to me.
“I want to project an image of femininity. And in reality, the misunderstanding centered on strength training using weights. I mean, clearly, if you want to do that, it’s an entirely other thing than what we’re talking about here… But that wasn’t the case.
“It was simply a matter of enhancing my own muscles and actually making me appear more womanly, as well as enhancing those curves and other features,” she said.

The people in her life have certainly taken note of the significant changes in both her physical and emotional health over the last several years.
“People tell me that you exude happiness just by looking at you. You have a radiant appearance. And the fact that this is the case means a great deal to me since it indicates that both my self-assurance and my shine have been restored.
“And I thought I’ve got myself back, and I’ve got a bit more, and I’m forever grateful for that,” she said. “And I’ve got a bit more.” And it was the primary focus of my attention the whole time. All I wanted was to go back to being myself.
“You have to understand when I first arrived here, I was nothing more than a tiny lost soul. My skin wasn’t terrific, it didn’t look wonderful, and I didn’t appear joyful.
“And now, I feel good, and I feel powerful, and I feel as though I know what I’m doing, and I feel as though, for the first time in my life, I’ve just got a bit of control back over myself. ” As a result, I have an enormous amount of gratitude.

The trip that she had to take in order to bring her mind and body to this stage in her life was unfortunately fraught with challenges at every turn.
During the course of her metamorphosis, Sophie has also had to triumph over a good number of challenges that occurred outside of the gym.
Beginning with a cholecystectomy, which is surgery to remove the gallbladder, followed by her fight against sepsis, which is one of the most significant silent killers in the UK and claims the lives of more than 40,000 people each year.
“So I got my gallbladder removed. After having my gallbladder removed, I was discharged from the hospital; however, I later developed sepsis, which was a very unpleasant experience.
“It was frightening because I lost a lot more muscle when I left the hospital, and I was in the middle of my training, and obviously with the hard work that I’d put in, and I was like, ‘Oh, this is all over.'”
Sophie was fortunate in that the knowledge she gained at UP assisted her in maintaining her regimen of healthy eating and physical activity while she was recovering, and she was finally ready to restart her body transformation.
“When I got back to this place, Jimmy changed up my workout routine so that I would be performing a lot less strenuous activities.
I was unable to raise the weights that I had been lifting. But over the course of a few months, I’ve built myself back up little by little, and it’s been a slow and steady process.
“Therefore, I was really, extremely appreciative, and they made sure to check in with me often. And Jimmy would always make sure I was comfortable and suggest exercises that I could perform in the comfort of my own home.
Sophie is able to go on with her life at the gym now that the most difficult times in her life are behind her. She is equipped with all of the information and tools that she needs to complete her metamorphosis.

Even Sophie is surprised by how far she has come and how much she has accomplished in such a short length of time when she thinks back to when she first began doing personal training at UP. This is in spite of the fact that she has encountered a lot of challenges along the way.
“When I look back at videos of myself when I first walked into UP Fitness, I don’t know, I just seem incredibly lost and extremely sad and just not myself, no confidence, the way I handled myself, everything. When I first started going to UP Fitness, I looked like I had no idea who I was.
“When I look at the change, and you can see progressively during the weeks how my confidence has been increasing, I feel like a completely different person. I just feel like I gained part of my power back, and I feel driven, and I feel good about myself, just the confidence, but I feel like I have control and power. I feel good about myself.
I haven’t felt this way in a very long time, but I can now say that I’m back to being myself.
“As a result, I have a tremendous amount of pride in myself. I am happy with what I have accomplished and proud of what my body has accomplished; I believe that it is wonderful.

Even though Sophie was the one who was responsible for putting in all of the efforts that led to the phenomenal outcomes, there is no way that she could have accomplished all of this without the assistance that she received from her trainer.
In addition to having a support system for the whole of the program, Sophie has had the incredible good fortune to experience the change alongside her fiancé. This has made her journey through the program even more rewarding.
And when it comes to the developments she’s seen in Shayne, Sophie couldn’t be prouder of what he’s done at UP and how it’s benefited both his personal and professional life. She couldn’t put it into words, but she was just so happy for him.
We have been encouraging one another to keep going. I will tell Shayne that I am able to see a significant change in him, and it is not only a change in his physical appearance but also in his attitude.
“I get the impression that he’s regaining his confidence. It just shows when he attends meetings, as well as when he attends plays and other such events.
You can see by looking at him that he has regained his self-belief and confidence, and as a result, he is succeeding in all he does.
“I’m just really proud of him because I believe he’d gotten to a point where he was dissatisfied with what he looked like and others remarking on his looks. I think he’d gotten to a point where he was unhappy with what he looked like. Being in this line of work, when everyone is always chatting away, may be challenging.
“And the truth of the matter is, I believe he could handle a great deal of it, but the fact that he wasn’t satisfied with himself makes it more difficult.
No matter what he wears, I believe he always looks good. I’m overjoyed to see that he’s succeeded in doing that, and he seems to be enjoying himself. That is what brings a smile to my face.

Since finishing her body transformation program, which resulted in her shedding 19 kg by the time it was through, Sophie has never felt more confident in both herself and her ability to perform well at the gym.
The recent boost in self-assurance that Sophie has experienced has enabled her to prepare both emotionally and physically for whatever the future may hold for her.
I’m definitely looking forward to taking what I’ve learned into the new year and applying it to the many initiatives that will be taking place the following year.
“Now that I’ve established my footing with the fitness center, I can do it, and it can become a regular part of my life. Simply living a happy and healthy life while maintaining my workout routine at U.P. Fitness.”
