Being indoors during a lightning storm outdoors is a nerve-wracking experience, to say the least. Outside solitude is dreadful.

Imagine for a moment that you are a dog who is stuck outdoors during a thunderstorm and has no place to go or hide since there is no shelter available. It is just horrible.

That is precisely what happened to Thora and Levina, two German Shepherd sisters who were abandoned.

A few days earlier, Katelyn Mannion, Kim Reid, and Fiona McClintock from Pets Lost And Found Fermanagh got a complaint about these two stray dogs who were wandering about the expansive streets in Fermanagh County. The canines seemed to be disoriented and confused.

Due to the fact that the dogs were afraid of humans, even if they could see where they were from a distance, they were unable to go to them as soon as they would have liked.

“We were feeling a little dejected since we couldn’t get close to them, and we just wanted to bring them to safety,” Katelyn Mannion said in an interview.

The worst possible dread for them suddenly materialized.

Because of the lightning storm that tore through the sky, it will be more difficult for them to find the two dogs.

They sought for three days but came up empty-handed, which made them feel helpless and defeated. They soon received information from a nearby farmer who informed them that the dogs had entered one of his barns. The rescue team arrived at the location as fast as they could and discovered the individuals in need of assistance.

However, they had not yet found a solution to their concerns.

Because they were anxious around humans, the dogs would not allow any of the three ladies to shut the door behind them.

“After some deft coaxing with food, these two lovely girls allowed us to approach and secure them. We are very grateful for their cooperation.” According to a post on Pets Lost and Found Fermanagh’s Facebook page, both of them were quite hungry, and one of them had some wounds, but there was nothing so serious that we do not expect a complete recovery from it.

Even if they don’t totally trust people just yet, the two dogs are grateful that the rescue team didn’t give up hunting for them when they couldn’t be found. Who knows whether they were ever found, even if they were?

Even the three ladies were relieved and relieved that they had been found and cared for when they were.

Katelyn said, “It was an extremely powerful, almost overwhelming feeling of complete elation and exhilaration.”Simply said, we couldn’t have been more relieved to see them in such a secure location. Even yet, we continued to be extremely worried about how they were doing. There was definitely a good amount of crying involved.

They will likely weep some more due to the fact that Lost Paws NI has donated to pay the cost of their veterinarian care. In addition, Little China Dog Rescue has volunteered to give a temporary home for them while they wait to be adopted by their forever families. Wow!

One of the people that helped them, Kim, decided on some fitting names for them and gave them the names Thora and Levina.
The Latin term for lightning was Levina, and Thora was the name of the thunder and lightning goddess in Scandinavian mythology. names with a strong symbolic meaning. Both of them have done an excellent job of adapting to their new environments since moving into foster care.

Even people have been given permission to scratch their tummies.

Their foster parents are working with them on an individual basis to help them restore their confidence and trust in others, despite the fact that they continue to be wary of other people.

We are thankful to the wonderful organizations who aided in providing the two dogs with a new and better life, as well as to the wonderful people who never gave up hunting for the dogs even after they had been missing for quite some time.
