As a couple went out on a drive together, they came across a dog that was tied up next to the road. Even though they continued driving, they were unable to stop thinking about the woman who seemed to be miserable and dejected as she sat all by herself in a little dog house. They were eventually forced to circle back around and pay her another visit.

They found out after asking that the dog’s owners had passed away from COVID-19 three years before and that their son no longer visited the home very often after that. She was alone herself, except for the fact that a guy who came to maintain the yard placed food and water out for her every few days, but other than that, she had no company. The unfortunate puppy had been abandoned in the backyard for the last three years, where she had no one to console or care for her. The son had been considering giving her away, but he assumed that no one would be interested in taking care of her. When the couple found out about this, they immediately understood what they needed to do.

At first, the dog, who would eventually be given the name Xena, was reluctant to go with the pair. She had fleas, ticks, and scars all over her body, and she was starving to death. But, after a little bit of persuasion in the form of food, they were successful in getting her into their vehicle and on the road to her new life.

When Xena first came to her new home, she was still anxious, but as soon as she saw her new siblings, she began to progressively relax, and her tail began to wag. After scheduling an appointment to take her to the veterinarian, they bathed her to remove the grime that had built up on her as a result of spending the previous three years in the open air.

On TikTok, the pair expressed their thoughts by writing, “She is such a lovely spirit, and you could see in her eyes how she trusted us.”

Surprisingly calm for her visit to the veterinarian, Xena seemed to have faith that everyone around her was there to assist her in some way. They administered drugs to her and guided her adoptive parents on how to restore her health. Following that, Xena was finally able to begin adjusting to her new life and taking advantage of all of the fantastic opportunities she had previously been denied.

The expression on Xena’s face when she went to the beach for the very first time was simply adorable. This happened not too long after she had started her new life.

The pair shared their excitement on TikTok by writing, “We saw her run for the first time.” “She was the sweetest thing attempting to run, and it was such a beautiful moment to see her go free,” the narrator said. “She kept stumbling over her legs.”

Throughout all of Xena’s carefree antics on the beach, her new family never once had a moment of concern that she might try to elude them. She made it a point to keep her eyes on them at all times and avoided getting too far away from them. She was well aware that all of this was due to them, and it is obvious that she intends to spend the rest of her life sticking close by their sides.
