Jennifer Aniston has expressed her desire that people would be able to laugh more at themselves and less at the need to censor every word in comedies.

“Comedy has evolved, movies have developed,” the 54-year-old actress best known for her role on “Friends” told AFP in Paris, where she is now filming “Murder Mystery 2” alongside Adam Sandler.

“Now it’s a little tricky because you have to be very careful,” she said, “which makes it really hard for comedians.” “The beauty of comedy is that we make fun of ourselves and make fun of life,” she continued. “But now it’s a little tricky because you have to be very careful.”

In the past, it was acceptable to make jokes about bigots and get a good laugh out of it; this was considered hilarious. She said, “And it was about teaching people on how stupid individuals were.” “And as of right now, we are not permitted to act in that manner.”

Since the days of “Friends” in the 1990s, Aniston stated that a significant amount of cultural shift had occurred.

“There is an entire generation of people, children especially, who are now going back to episodes of ‘Friends,’ and they find them insulting.

“There were things that were never intentional, and others…well, we should have thought it through — but I don’t think there was a sensitivity like there is now,” she said. “There was a sensitivity now that wasn’t there before.”

According to Aniston, it is unfortunate that Hollywood has been producing a significantly lower number of comedies in recent years due, at least in part, to these concerns.

“Everyone needs funny! The world is in desperate need of humor! It’s important that we don’t take ourselves too seriously here. Particularly in the United States of America. She said that everyone is far too divided.

The other significant change, according to Sandler’s co-star, has been the increase in budgets. Nowadays, comedies are expected to look just as good as expensive blockbusters and dramas.

“Are you aware of anything else that has changed with comedies? Sandler laughed and pointed to his attire while making a joke about the outfit.

“Are you old enough to remember when we used to make comedies? They would provide you with a budget, which would not include an excessive amount of money, and tell you, “Do everything you can with it.”

And now they want us to appear like we’re totally killing it. “We put in even more effort into that,” he remarked with a chuckle.

“Murder Mystery 2” is the sequel to the critically acclaimed film “Murder Mystery,” which was released on Netflix in 2019, and tells the story of a detective played by Adam Sandler and his wife who become involved in a whodunit while they are on vacation.

After the kidnapping of a wealthy friend, the protagonists of the sequel, which can be streamed starting on Friday, fly to Paris to try to find him.
