Tamy Lyn Murrell weighed 591lbs (42 stone) when she appeared on the reality show seeking help from Dr. Nowzaradan in 2018.
She struggled with overeating since she was a little girl and recalled the tragic moment she witnessed her dad collapse and pass from a heart attack in her house.
Tamy’s mum also struggled with the loss and she said she felt like she lost both of her parents because of her mum’s grief. Her addiction to food worsened over the year as she ‘became a hermit’ and struggled to get out of bed.
When I initially get out of bed in the morning, the first thing that occurs is that my stomach comes dangerously close to touching the floor. There is no movement whatsoever. She said this when appearing on the show: “It is putting a lot of strain on the rest of my body.”
It seems as if I’m continually teetering on the brink of falling since my stomach is becoming flabbier all the time. Life in my body is miserable.”
A video was taken of the grandma attempting to get out of bed despite the fact that the weight of her body was affecting all of her limbs.

On Tamy’s page, viewers often post encouraging comments, and one of them recently wrote: “I wanted to take a moment to congratulate you on your recent weight reduction; I am really proud of you. I remember your shows, you’re a wonderful person, and I was pulling for you. I’m really delighted you succeeded because you’re an inspiration. I remember your episodes.”
Someone else who follows you on social media said, “You look wonderful!!,” while someone else commented, “You look awesome.”
Another excellent piece of news about Tamy is that it seems as if her marriage to James is thriving. James continues to be very supportive of Tamy. He broke the bombshell just before she had gastric bypass surgery by revealing that he had been unfaithful to her.
Tammy informed her Facebook friends on Christmas Day, 2019, that James had proposed to her once again, and on the fourth of May, 2021, she informed them that it was their one-year wedding anniversary.
