Tems is being criticized as a result of the fact that some people felt he virtually stole the show at the Oscars.
During Sunday night’s Academy Oscars, a lot of spectators had their vision obscured since the singer was wearing a gargantuan gown.
A tweet wrote something along the lines of, “Imagine waiting your entire life to get there, only to wind up behind a stratus cloud.”
Several people felt that Tems completely overshadowed the other nominees and winners during the Oscars.
The singer came under fire on social media when her massive gown obscured the vision of a number of people in the audience during the Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday night.
The white gown that the 27-year-old singer-songwriter wore wrapped around the back of her head was a nod to the fact that her song “Lift Me Up,” from the film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” was nominated for the award for best original song. Rihanna performed the song.
As a result of the gown, others seated behind and surrounding her had their views obscured, which resulted in a number of people expressing their opinions on Twitter.
One person remarked, “I’m cryinnnnnnn,” next to a video showing Tems in the crowd. “I’m cryinnnnnnn.” “Tems has that woman struggling for her life,” the narrator says.
Someone wrote, “Imagine waiting your entire life to be at the Oscars, and then you wind yourself seated behind a stratus cloud.”
Someone said, “I imagine the ones who were hiding behind the white curtain didn’t get to witness the performance.”
Not everyone commented negatively on Tems’s choice of attire.
Someone once remarked, “If you’re sitting BEHIND brilliance that is known as Tems, then maybe you’re simply not that significant.” This statement was made in reference to Tems.
Someone another tweeted: “Just right. It is not appropriate for her to offer an apology.”
