Samantha, an American bulldog mix who is 4 years old, has never stopped pondering the concept of genuine affection. The lovely puppy eventually made her way to Miami-Dade Animal Services after spending some time lost on the streets of southern Florida. Samantha’s rescuers were brought to tears by the sorrowful face she wore when she was in the shelter.
Samantha was cleaned up and given the necessary medical care by shelter volunteers after they found her in a state of distress. She was soon ready to find the home that would be hers for the rest of her life, so her new friends put her on their list of adoptable and began promoting her photo. Everyone who worked at the shelter fell in love with Samantha and had high hopes that she’d be reunited with her family in a short amount of time. Yet, to everyone’s amazement, a whole year passed with no inquiries about Samantha’s family.
The years went by, and Samantha’s frown became sterner as time went on.
After more than a year had passed, MDAS had exceeded its limit and was unable to continue housing Samantha. They reached out to Humans and Animals United (HAU), asking for assistance in finding a new home for the affectionate dog, and sent a couple photographs of Samantha in her kennel as part of their appeal to the organization.
Rosa Fond, the founder and president of HAU, said in an interview with The Dodo that “those photographs devastated us.” “We came to the conclusion that we should go pick her up, and from there we would work out the rest.”
After a short period of time, a volunteer from HAU was waiting outside the doors of MDAS, all set to take Samantha to her new temporary residence. She had just finished loading the dog into her vehicle and was on her way home when she realized that Samantha was having a difficult time adjusting to the new situation.

She had just finished loading the dog into her vehicle and was on her way home when she realized that Samantha was having a difficult time adjusting to the new situation.
A little time later, Samantha’s initially uncertain look morphed into a broad smile that covered her whole face. The once-lonely dog had the realization that she was noticed for the first time and that she would soon be cherished.
After that, the volunteer sent the canine to a local trainer who had promised to house Samantha for the next month in addition to providing training for her. Even though it was not yet her permanent residence, Samantha began to flourish almost immediately after moving into her new environment.
Fond remarked that she performed an outstanding job there. “She has been doing really well as of late.”
Samantha was at the training center for a month before she was ultimately placed in a foster home. She is still looking for a family that will love her for the rest of her life, but in the meanwhile, she is having fun learning what it is like to have a place to call home.
Fond said, “She loves her toys.” “Her bed is her happy place, and she loves spending time with people. She has just one request, and that is to be patted and laid on by someone.
He is able to tell that Samantha understands the love things that her new rescuers give to her despite the fact that she is unable to speak. The friendly canine has an innate capacity to establish a connection with humans on an emotional level.
Fond remarked that whenever you spoke to her, it seemed as if she understood all that you were saying to her. It is almost as if she is able to read your feelings.
In addition to this, Fond is of the opinion that Samantha should have an easier time finding a permanent home since she can easily integrate herself into the dynamic of any household.
According to Fond, “She loves dogs, and she has a soft spot for cats.” Since she is so wonderful, I can’t imagine there being anybody who wouldn’t want to take her in as their own.
For the time being, Samantha is going to concentrate on soaking up all of the affection that she is receiving from her new foster family. Although if she is still looking for her happily-ever-after, she may take solace in the fact that the most difficult portion of her journey is well in the past. Samantha’s whole life will consist entirely of love from this point on.5
