He was born in Midland, Texas on July 23, 1961 to Diane Lou Oswald and Charles Harrelson, who was a hitman who had been convicted of many killings. Charles Harrelson was his father.

As Woody was working on “Cheers,” Louie was recruited to be Woody’s personal assistant. This is how Woody first met Louie. Despite this, flames quickly flowed between them, and their friendship quickly developed into passion.
He told the source, “It was one of those things I wouldn’t acknowledge to myself: I didn’t want to be attracted to my fantastic helper.” “It was one of those things I wouldn’t admit to myself,” he said.
The connection flourished once the two individuals spoke clean about the love they had for one another. “When Laura found out, the first thing she said to me was, ‘That must be incredibly difficult for you, to have this s**t revealed.’ This really gives you a feel of the depth of her compassion, and I wanted to share that with you. ” That is exactly what she said. That, however, does not imply that she was not agitated. How did I apologize? You know, just your typical groveling like a Texan would do. Nonetheless, she chose to forgive me, and now we continue to be a couple.
The love that Woody and Louie felt was so powerful that not even adultery was able to separate them; hence, in 2008, they tied the knot in Maui. Nevertheless, fifteen years later, the relationship between the pair is still strong, and Woody has not stopped gushing over his cherished wife since they first met. On June of 2017, he uploaded a picture to Instagram of Louie having a good time out and about with the caption “Laura in Ravello.” My most favorite person, at the most wonderful location.”
They both have a deep appreciation for eco-friendly ways of life, which is one of their shared interests. Woody and his family have made the decision to reside on the island of Maui, where they work hard to preserve the environment.

In addition, Woody attributed his development as a person to the influence that his family had on him.
“Luckily, this life and my family – my wife and my girls, they sort of loved me into a better human being,” he added. “This life and my family are the two most important things in my life.”
