Sassy, a Chihuahua who was 9 years old at the time, lived in the house that Mary Alexander, who was 92 years old and lived in Inverness, shared. The minute Mary came to Sassy’s aid, the two of them instantly became the closest of friends.
One day, when the woman went to check her mailbox, she found that everything had gone smoothly and just as planned. Due to the proximity of her destination, the lady did not bring her phone with her. Her dog, Sassy, was there to accompany her.
The unfortunate lady’s leg suddenly twisted, and as she fell, a fence collapsed on top of her, crushing her. No one could see her since the plants that grew over her house’s fence obscured her view, and all that was left to do was pray. Just Sassy, who had been sent by God, was there when the lady started praying, and she was the only one who heard her.
She was lying in the sunshine and sprinted to each passing car as she did so. She kept repeating this for the next five hours, pausing sometimes to kiss the lady to check on how she was doing and ensure that everything was well. After hearing the dog’s persistent barking, a couple hurriedly came to investigate the problem. Since the lady was laying on an ant hill, she received a large number of bites, and as a result, she became severely injured and dehydrated.
She was transferred to the hospital, where she was told of the gallant deeds performed by her dog. She said that the dog was responding in the same manner to her as he did. In the animal shelter, Sassy was rescued by Mary; yet, Sassy still needed to be rescued.
