Barbara Eden’s husband, Jon Eicholtz, and the actress most known for her role in “I Dream of Jeannie” recently celebrated thirty years of marriage. Before to this, both of them were in relationships with other people. Yet, after their first date, the renowned actress said that it was not love at first sight for her.
Eden spent a few years after her second marriage enjoying life as a newly single woman until she found love again with Eicholtz, an experienced architect. This time, however, it was with Eicholtz. Despite this, Eden said that after their first date with one other, she was unclear of whether or not she would see Eicholtz again.
The two people did eventually run into each other again, and now they’ve been happily married for more than three decades. Eden was there when her son passed away, and Eicholtz had to deal with the loss of his second wife. Despite this, the lovebirds have both been through difficult times.
Jon Followed a Routine Very Much Like That of His Well-Known Wife
In contrast to his wife, Eicholtz does not come from a background in the entertainment industry. After completing Kansas University’s Architectural Engineering program, which is five years long, he went on to have a prosperous career in the fields of architecture and real estate development.
Eden had been married to her first husband, an actor by the name of Michael Ansara, for a total of sixteen years before to meeting Eicholtz. Throughout the course of their relationship, they became parents to a son, Matthew, who lived to the age of 35 before passing away in 2001. Eden revealed to us:
“At long last, we were blessed with a baby, and our hearts overflowed with love for our little bundle of joy. Our excitement had no bounds, and our expectations that he would have a life full of health and happiness knew no bounds too. Matthew was and will always be the most important person to both of us.”
Eicholtz also had a son from a previous relationship, in addition to Eden’s only child, who was a son. Eden was an only child. Eden wed Charles Fegert in 1997, although the couple was only together for a total of five years before going their separate ways. Until she met Eicholtz, who had just been widowed for the second time due to cancer, the actress had been alone for a number of years.
Eden found out that the medical professional had been the one who had sent Eicholtz’s late wife to a specialist after she was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was at a doctor’s visit after they started dating. Eicholtz’s late wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
When Eden’s doctor found out that she was visiting Eicholtz, he told Eden about how Eicholtz had cared for his late wife before she passed away. Eden’s doctor was impressed with Eicholtz’s abilities. Eden’s doctor said:
“Be kind to him. When their spouses were unwell or passing away, I’ve seen a lot of men, and the majority of them generally go to the countryside because they can’t take the stress. Yet, Jon was there with her for each and every one of those minutes. He was really kind to her and would do things like wash her hair and bring her food.”
Eden and Eicholtz now call their house in Beverly Hills, located in Los Angeles, their home. They have a Labradoodle named Bentley. Eden has an unusual collection of genie bottles that have been given to her by viewers of her program that also stars Larry Hagman. She maintains this collection at the office she has at home.
Despite the fact that it was often stored in a bank, Eden had the original, purple and gold genie bottle from her successful 1960s series proudly displayed in her house. More books and prizes, including Eden’s very first Hollywood beauty award, were added to the home office’s décor when Eden had it furnished.
Jon’s wife did not fall in love with him at first sight.
When it came time for Eden and Eicholtz’s first date, the actress confessed to experiencing what she called a “frivolous” vibe around him and being apprehensive of whether he would like her. “…I immediately recognized that Jon is so honest, so solid…” she stated. “…I quickly understood that Jon is…”
Eden and Eicholtz spent the evening chatting about his profession, which she considered to be a fascinating topic. She was prepared to give the date her best try, and she did so. Once the evening was over, Eicholtz drove his future bride back to her apartment, but on the way, he did not make any effort to give her a goodnight kiss.
“…I suppose it means I won’t get a response from him ever again. Yet I was completely mistaken, “Eden was kind. Eicholtz and Eden went on their second and third dates when he called her back and she responded positively.
The actress, who claimed that it often takes many dates with a guy before her “heart starts to melt,” said that unlike popular belief, she did not fall in love at first sight with her husband. And by the time many candlelit meals, passionate kisses beneath the stars, and heart-to-heart talks had passed, Eden had come to the conclusion that she was falling in love with Eicholtz. In her words:
“…That was not a typical moment when I realized that I had fallen in love with him in this very instant and for all time.”
Before they could be married, Jon and his future wife had to go through a few procedures together.
Before Eicholtz and his future wife could finally say “I do,” they had to overcome a number of obstacles prior to their wedding ceremony in 1991. Due to the fact that they had both already been married twice, they were required to travel to each of their prior churches in order to get letters of endorsement from their pastors.
Eden did not belong to any churches in the area, so she went to Beverly Hills in search of a “avant-garde” preacher. And after making an unpleasant and unwelcome comment about their sexual lives, which both Eden and Eicholtz feared, they were handed their letter of recommendation.
Despite the fact that the preparation was done at the eleventh hour, the two of them went down the aisle of the church holding hands in front of all of their loved ones. Despite the fact that Eden’s son was not able to attend the event, which left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth, the actress said:
“I have a lot of good fortune. I have close buddies. My family is fantastic, and I have a spouse who is extremely supportive. But, I also have a puppy that is gorgeous but a brat! Absolutely, I am overjoyed at this point. I believe that life, and everything else, needs to figure itself out on its own. The majority of things happen for a reason, and I can’t change that fact even if I wanted to.”
They’ve Been Together for Decades, and Here Are the Secrets to a Long-Lasting Marriage That Jon and Barbara Have Shared with Each Other
After spending more than three decades together, Eden and Eicholtz confessed that one of the secrets to their successful marriage is enjoying one other “a lot.” This revelation came shortly after the couple celebrated their anniversary. Eden has confessed that she watches golf and baseball with Eicholtz despite the fact that she is not a lover of sports. This is because she loves him.
In addition to being supportive of his wife’s professional endeavors, Eicholtz “doesn’t mind” his wife’s hectic work schedule.
“If you’re experiencing a little bit of trouble, you should put yourself in the position of the other person. Examine the situation from their point of view. It’s not a piece of cake! Just make an effort, “Barbara Eden said.
