It’s hard to think that Newton-John at initially wasn’t thrilled about taking the part of Sandy in the musical “Grease,” but that’s exactly what happened. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in the year 2020, Newton-John said that there were a large number of other actresses competing for the role, which meant that there was a strong possibility that she would not have been chosen.
On the other hand, it seemed as if John Travolta was very much on Newton-side. John’s
“Because they saw how reluctant I was to appear in Grease, they had John Travolta try to persuade me to take the part. And how could you ever refuse those beautiful blue eyes? Newton-John had this to say. She finally agreed to do it, and from that point on, her professional life took off.
Newton-John continued by saying, “(When circumstances are bad), John always reaches out to me.”
Travolta bragged about how Newton-John was always there for him as well, proving that their relationship was mutual and going in both directions. “When you have that type of spectacular achievement – and nothing has been able to match it – you share a kinship,” he continued. “There has been nothing that has been able to exceed that.” Travolta continued, “Olivia’s just a great human being. She is deserving of a healthy relationship.”
There is no doubt that Newton-John and Travolta had a wonderful relationship during the course of their time together. Therefore, on August 8, 2022, after Newton-John died away, Travolta went to Instagram to post some heartfelt thoughts about his dear buddy who had gone away. He posted a breathtaking picture of the late actress along with the caption: “I will miss you.”
“Olivia, my most precious, you have made each and every one of our lives so much better. You had a great effect on people. I adore you so much. You will run into us down the road, and when that day comes, we will all be back together. Yours from the very first second that I laid eyes on you, and for all of time! Your Danny, your John!”
Newton-legacy John’s will be remembered for all time, and she will be known as Sandy for as long as Travolta and the rest of the world live. And in February of 2023, in an ad for the musical Grease that aired during the Super Bowl, Travolta paid tribute to his late buddy.
In the ad, Travolta appeared with Donald Faison and Zach Braff, who are also cast members of “Scrubs.” Although the words of “Summer Nights” were rewritten for the sake of the T-Mobile promo, the three delivered their own rendition of the song. The debut of the video took place half a year after Newton-John passed away.
On February 9, 2023, Travolta announced the news of his ad on his Instagram account. He added the words in the photo’s caption: “Neighbors that sing together, remain together.” Donald Aion and Zach Braff are the very best, and I couldn’t have asked for anybody else. Thank you very much, @tmobile! #TMobilePartner.
Travolta announced that there was a longer version of the advertising on his social media profile on February 11, 2023. He also released the lengthier version of the advertisement.
It was obvious that Travolta was paying tribute to his late co-star Newton-John as the trio recreated some of the best dance moves from “Grease,” as reported by Entertainment Weekly. The expanded version brought this point home in a clearer way. Faison and Braff are two more actors who have such a natural presence in the movie that you might even mistake them for original cast members.
A great number of supporters have expressed their adoration for the advertisement in the space provided underneath the video. One individual said, “I like this brand-new advertisement. Totally and completely delightful. I really like all of the actors, but John Travolta is my favorite. I absolutely adore the tribute to Grease.
Another individual gave their opinion, saying, “Could only image the extra magnificence that this advertisement would have had if Olivia were in it.” WELL RESTED Olivia Newton-John was the singer. My mother had feelings for her.”

Newton-memory John’s will be preserved in perpetuity by Travolta and the rest of her family and friends, and her spirit was undoubtedly there in the ad.
