Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who was best known for being the DJ on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, for being a judge and an entrant on the show “So You Think You Can Dance,” and for his fun, Instagram dance videos with his wife Allison Holker Boss, has passed away at the age of 40 due to suicide. He was known for all of these things.

Holker Boss, who is 34 years old, was quoted as saying in a statement that Yahoo Entertainment was able to receive that “it is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share that my husband Stephen has left us.” “Stephen was like a beacon of light whenever he entered a room. Above all else, he placed the utmost importance on his family, his friends, and the community he lived in. Leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the rock upon which our household was built, the ideal husband and father, and a source of motivation for all of his admirers.”

It went on like this, She went on to remark that it would be an understatement to claim that he did not leave behind a legacy and that his positive influence will continue to be felt. “I am confident that not a single day will pass without us paying tribute to his memory in some way. During this terrible time for our family, especially for our three children, we ask that you respect our need for privacy.”

To wrap up her remarks, Holker Boss sent a message to her husband, Stephen, in which she said, “Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always keep the last dance for you.”

On Wednesday morning, TMZ was the first media outlet to break the news. According to the publication, Holker Boss went to an LAPD station to report that Boss had left the house without his automobile, which caused her concern. The station was not identified. Shortly after that, authorities were sent to a motel that was close to the couple’s property, and there they discovered his body. After further investigation, the Los Angeles County Coroner determined that Boss took his own life inside a hotel room. The investigation is now over.

Boss was hired by DeGeneres as the resident DJ for her talk show in 2014, and he remained in that role for the remainder of the show’s run. DeGeneres paid respect to him on social media after his loss. She described him as “pure love and light” and stated that she “loved him with all my heart” before describing herself as “heartbroken.”

Boss, who was originally from Montgomery, Alabama, attended both Southern Union State Community College in his home state of Alabama and Chapman University in the state of California for his dance performance education. The hip-hop dancer and choreographer originally gained widespread recognition after competing on the fourth season of So You Think You Can Dance in 2008 when she was ultimately ranked as the runner-up. In 2009, Mia Michaels was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Choreography for her work on one of his dances, which he performed with fellow contender Katee Shean. He was on the show again for further performances, and he was a member of the SYTYCD All-Stars in a number of different seasons. Boss was a member of the judging panel for Season 17 when he joined earlier this year.

The first time he appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk program as a guest DJ was in the year 2014. She referred to him as “her favorite dancer” when she was introducing him. It wasn’t long before the part became a permanent one, and Boss remained with the show up until it was canceled in May.

In the year 2020, he was given the opportunity to steer the ship of the Ellen DeGeneres Show as a result of his promotion to the position of co-executive producer. The promotion came in the midst of a controversy regarding the show’s poisonous work environment. Ellen DeGeneres’ spin-off show, Ellen’s Game of Games, had Boss as a co-star. Boss was one of the people who supported Ellen DeGeneres during the controversy.

In the film Magic Mike XXL, which was released in 2015, Boss played the role of dancer Malik with Channing Tatum. In addition to that, he served as an honorary judge on World of Dance with Jennifer Lopez.

Because Holker Boss is also a dancer, he was able to meet his future spouse through the show. She was a contestant on the show during its second season, and subsequently, she and he were both named All-Stars. When asked about how they met, she stated that she had requested his number after they had attended the premiere of Step Up 3D in 2010 with a group of people but ended up dancing the night away together. He stated that she had brought him onto the dance floor during the wrap party for that season of SYTYCD and that they had “danced the entire night, and we’ve been together ever since.”

They got married in 2013 at the Villa San-Juliette Winery in Paso Robles, California, which is owned by SYTYCD co-creator Nigel Lythgoe. They had their first child, a son named Maddox, in 2016, and then their first child, a daughter named Zaia, in 2019. Weslie, who was born out of a previous relationship with Boss’s wife, was later adopted by the couple. Weslie is now 14 years old. On the Jennifer Hudson Show in November, the couple revealed that they were thinking about growing their family and stated they were excited about the prospect.

From 2018 to 2020, Holker Boss and Boss served as co-hosts of the Disney+ original series Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings.

The couple, as well as the rest of the family, has become well-known for posting joyful and uplifting dancing videos on various social media platforms. The most recent one, which was posted two days ago, is a video of Boss and Holker Boss performing a festive dance in front of a tree.

Additionally, only lately, the pair celebrated the ninth anniversary of their married. On December 10, Boss posted a black and white snapshot of the couple dancing at their wedding along with the caption “Happy anniversary my love.” She wrote on Instagram that marrying Boss has been the best decision of her life and released a video with various memories from that day “been without a doubt one of the wisest choices I’ve ever made in my whole life! I am overwhelmed by how loved and privileged I am! I will never, ever take you or our love for granted, darling because I love you so much. I LOVE YOU.”

They made their most recent joint appearance at a public function on December 5th. They participated in the 5th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television hosted by the Critics Choice Association at Fairmont Century Plaza and posed for a number of photographs together during their time there.
