The principal actor of Best Man: The Final Chapters has confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that he will be leaving the industry.
“This marks the end of my journey. “This is the end for me,” he stated, before adding of his co-stars in The Best Man, “I don’t know if it’s the end for the rest of them.”
After that, Howard, who is 53 years old, made a reference to his prior retirement, which will take place in September 2019. “Almost all of my responsibilities ended when I retired two years ago. I was done, “It came back to him.
“I asked Sidney Poitier ten years ago if he wanted to do any more work, and he said, ‘Why would I waste my last ten years playing an imitation of myself?'” he said. “I asked Al Pacino ten years ago if he wanted to do any more work, and Al Pacino responded, ‘Why would I spend my last 10 “And that’s what I’ve gotten to,” the speaker continued.
ET was the first to hear the news that Howard intended to retire when he first made the announcement. After his appearance in Empire, he reportedly discussed “running away” from the acting industry in interviews.
“I’ve been playing pretend for years. There is no longer any reason to act as if it were something it’s not “Howard said. “I’ve done my time.”
During the same year, his co-star on Empire, Vivica A. Fox, expressed doubts about how long his retirement would continue. She stated that it is “more than probable” that he will take a break from acting for “a year or two,” during which time he will “hang out with his kids, have a wonderful time, and then the acting bug will get him again.”
In 1992, Howard made his debut in the film The Jacksons: An American Dream, which marked the beginning of his acting career. Since then, he’s gone on to star in a number of high-profile films and television shows, such as Crash, Hustle & Flow, and Ironman. In addition, he is most known for his role as Lucious Lyon on Empire, which he performed from 2015 through 2020.
The Best Man: The Final Chapters is a continuation of the franchise that began with the broadcast of the first film in 1999 and is produced by Peacock as part of The Best Man. Peacock is going to begin airing the miniseries on December 22nd.
