Celine Dion, who is known for songs such as “All By Myself” and “My Heart Will Go On,” disclosed on December 8 that she had been afflicted with Stiff Person Syndrome, an extremely rare neurological condition (SPS).
The well-known singer, who is now 54 years old, shared the information on her Instagram account. She gave an explanation for her hiatus from live music in a video that she released online. While she was speaking, she had a hard time holding back the tears, and she revealed that the sickness had an impact on her life in a variety of different ways. Despite this, she said as follows:
“I have a wonderful team of doctors working with me to help me get better, as well as my darling children who are supporting me and providing me help,” the patient said. “I am getting better.”
At the conclusion of the video, she was unable to contain her emotions any longer and began to cry. She went on to explain that the disease was the root cause of the spasms that she had been experiencing over the past few weeks. In addition to that, she mentioned that these spasms make living a normal life appear to be an impossible effort.
This is not the first time that the musician has had contact with the medical field. Rene Angelil, her husband, had been given multiple diagnoses of cancer over the course of his treatment. In 1999, he was given the diagnosis with throat cancer and underwent surgery to treat the condition. The condition manifested itself once more in 2013, prompting him to undergo surgical intervention once more.
The singer claimed that giving birth to children had a profound effect on her life.
Cancer returned in Rene less than a year after he had his second procedure to remove it. His wife revealed her thoughts at the time, claiming that the medical professionals were unable to predict how much longer her husband would be alive. She would put her professional life on wait in order to take care of Rene whenever he was ill.
She acknowledged that maintaining her calm for the benefit of her family was difficult, but she was aware that she needed to be strong for the sake of everyone else. The music producer’s final request was to pass away while holding in her arms, and in the year 2020, Rene did so due to factors unrelated to human intervention.
Celine and Rene Angelil were married from 1994 until his passing, and throughout their time together, they had three sons: Rene-Charles Angelil, who was the eldest, as well as a pair of twins named Nelson and Eddy Angelil. The singer has stated that the three have taken initiative and are prepared to back her up.
Celine’s three sons have a very special relationship with their mother. The singer claimed that giving birth to children had a profound effect on her life. She claimed that nothing could ever equal the feeling of knowing that she had her three children with her at home and raising them:
“To put it another way, becoming a mother has brought about a sea change in every aspect of my life. There is nothing that can ever compare to the feeling of knowing that the actual, genuine values are waiting for me at home, in my very own heart.”
The singer best known for her hit “That’s the Way It Is” celebrated Mother’s Day on May 8 by sharing a photo on Instagram that featured all three of her sons. In the picture, Celine could be seen seated with her three sons arranged in a circle around her. A rosy-hued cake topped with candles was placed in front of the musician.
She dedicated the post in the caption to all of the mothers throughout the world who were unable to spend Mother’s Day with their families or who did so in the midst of awful violence. She praised all women for their resilience and commitment to their children.
In spite of the fact that things are looking dismal for Celine at the moment, she draws courage from her sons. It is clear from her article that her sons love her, and you can be sure that they will do everything in their power to make sure that, despite the unpredictability of the situation, she has everything that she requires.
