The singer and actress made her first red carpet appearance in the United States in years last night when she visited a preview for her new Netflix film Falling for Christmas in New York City. Falling for Christmas will be released later this year. And to add to the surprise of just seeing her back in the public eye, Lohan showed up with her new husband, Bader Shammas, as her date.
The actress from “Freaky Friday” graced the red carpet wearing a see-through gown by Valentino that had long sleeves and was decorated all over with golden beads. The garment was embroidered with white flowers. She accessorized the outfit with a set of diamond stud earrings and a diamond ring, and she went for a natural makeup look with a bronzy smoky eye and a neat high ponytail in order to get a glamorous effect.
Her husband, who was standing next to her, was dressed impeccably in a traditional black suit, a white dress shirt, and no tie. As they walked down the red carpet together, the two locked arms and smiled at the cameras. (Earlier this year, Lohan and Shammas tied the knot, and in July, Lohan announced the news of their marriage with a series of honeymoon images on her Instagram account.)
After an extended absence from the Hollywood scene, Lindsay Lohan makes her triumphant return with the film Falling for Christmas (during which she opened a nightclub in Mykonos and got secretly married). She plays the role of an engaged heiress in the film who, prior to her wedding, is involved in a skiing accident that causes her to lose her memory. She then finds herself in the care of a handsome lodge owner (Chord Overstreet) and his daughter.
It made me truly happy when I read it, and it had me laughing out loud—and that was important,” she said in a new interview with Vogue UK, explaining why she ended up choosing to do the film. “I love a light love story: It’s not too heavy or deep,” she said. “It made me really happy when I read it, and it made me laugh out loud—and that was important.”
Lohan will also star in at least two other films that will be produced by Netflix, and she is serving as an executive producer on this project as well.
