At the world premiere of her next film, She Said, Carey Mulligan wowed audiences with her glitzy presence.

The actress from Promising Young Woman attended the premiere of the highly anticipated picture at the BFI London Film Festival. She did so in a classic black gown that featured a brilliant update to a preferred Old Hollywood style. Her dress, which was from the autumn 2022 collection of Armani Privé, was sleeveless and had a plunging sweetheart neckline and a structural panel on the bodice in the form of a Barbie-pink wave that stretched down the throat and protruded slightly at the hip.

The celebrity kept the attention on the gown, accessorizing with a pair of black pointed-toe shoes and a pair of diamond stud earrings to complete the ensemble. Her makeup consisted of a natural complexion with the addition of a strong red lip, and her hair was fashioned in a short bob with waves.

She Said is a portrayal of the landmark investigation exposing Harvey Weinstein’s decades of sexual assault that was conducted by journalists Meghan Twohey and Jodi Kantor of the New York Times. This investigation was based on a book of the same name. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Twohey praised Mulligan for her thorough portrayal of the journalist’s connection with postpartum depression, which is shown in the film. Twohey’s relationship with postpartum depression is represented in the film.

Following this, the actress from Drive discussed how she draws inspiration from her own postpartum experience, which she had in 2017 with the birth of her daughter Evelyn Grace. She said that returning to work on her film Suffragette, which she directed and starred in 2015, aided in her recovery.

“It was either get on with it or cancel the whole event,” she added. “It was either get on with it or cancel the entire thing.” “And that, along with a mixture of lots of other things, as well as the assistance and love from everyone around me, was my light. So, Megan and I spoke about that, and we both discussed what we had both gone through, as so many other women have been through.”

In 2017, Mulligan and her husband, Marcus Mumford, became parents for the first time to a boy named Wilfred. Previously, in 2015, they had already been parents to a girl.
