If you still have the champion’s fire burning in your spirit and a passion for life that consumes you, then age is not as crucial as it otherwise would be. Lyudmila Belousova and Oleg Protopopov, two of the greatest figure skaters of all time, have once again proved this point.

As part of an event called “Evening with Champions,” Lyudmila Belousova, who was 79 at the time, and Oleg Protopopov, who was 83 at the time, skated on ice in the United States in September of 2015. Their performances were always well received, without a single dissenting opinion.

It seems unimaginable that they would make a comeback after fifty years and provide a polished and outstanding performance at this point, but we may attempt to envision it nevertheless. It’s a wonderful thing. Unrivaled, smooth, and characterized by an impressively long stride… just outstanding Excellent professionalism at all times!

This encompasses a whole time period. They stand out from the others. Even though figure skating 50 years ago and figure skating now are as different as heaven and earth, I still have a lot of respect for both. They proved that there are no limits to one’s creative potential!
