Given their position as independent superstars, we can all blame ourselves for failing to remember that Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have been together for more than 30 years.

Kyra was just twelve years old when she first met Kevin, who was seven years her senior. After seeing a Kevin Bacon-starring film together, she and her brother eventually got to know one another.

It took 10 years until they crossed paths once again, on the set of Lemon Sky. Kyra said that bacon wasn’t exactly her style.

He was definitely not my type. In fact, Kyra remembered, she could still vividly remember thinking, Well, I suppose some females enjoy that when he left after our first meeting.

She later changed her mind, and the two were married the following year, in 1989.

After exchanging vows in a private ceremony in Connecticut, the couple had a 300-person party at Manhattan hotspot Au Bar. Kevin and Kyra made the decision to be married in 1987 on Christmas Eve, and they only invited close relatives and friends.

Soon after being married, they had Travis Sedgwick Bacon as their first child. Their second child, Sosie Ruth, was born in 1992.

Sosie portrayed Skye Miller in the Netflix adolescent drama “13 Reasons Why,” following in the footsteps of her parents. Travis, a self-employed musician, wrote the soundtrack for “Story of a Girl,” a movie directed by his parents.

Now, 34 years later, the couple is commemorating their anniversary, and they couldn’t be happier. The Bacons’ long-lasting marriage is somewhat of a miracle in Hollywood.

When Kyra said in 2008, “If they had told me that at 22 I would meet the guy I would marry and that at 23 I would marry him and have a kid, I would have told them they were out of their mind.

It is clear that Bacon is still very in love with his famous wife since he routinely remembers to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Actually, Kevin and Kyra routinely post confessions of love on one another’s Instagram accounts.

But getting together hasn’t always been easy for them.

“Beautiful things were occurring at the same time that I was hitting what I believed to be the bottom, including my wife and our children’s births. And I was still able to sustain myself, which always gave me strength, Bacon told the reporters.

They remembered the time their life savings were taken when Bernie Madoff carried out what is known as the largest Ponzi scam in history in 2008, and they admitted that things haven’t always been simple.

They persisted despite having lost millions of dollars since they still had jobs and weren’t completely bankrupt.

When Kyra made an appearance on the American television show “Finding Your Roots,” she discovered that she and Bacon are ninth cousins once removed.

After a DNA test revealed the actor and actress were distant relatives, Kevin wasn’t very happy to discover this information.

Kyra acknowledged “understanding it,” but said that it was “a bit unnerving.” She said that she was okay with the news as long as they weren’t first cousins.

According to PBS’s inquiry into Kevin’s ancestry, King Edward I, who fought William Wallace, was his 22nd great grandfather. Kevin claimed that he and his wife were first cousins and made fun of the fact that his heritage wasn’t given enough attention.

“You know, I sort of felt like it was a joke at my expense,” he said.
Even though it was a shocking discovery, Kevin and Kyra have undoubtedly moved on, and their bond has grown over time.

They had much more time together recently while confined to their LA home.

Kyra acknowledged that she was writing a little bit, although not knowing whether she was any good at it.

Finding something to do is really all that is needed. We do watch a lot of TV and read a lot, even if I don’t read Shakespeare with my husband. We never stop reading. I continue reading. Without a doubt, I make an effort to include work into my everyday life.

Kyra also admits that, wherever they go, her husband always treats her like a distinct individual.

I don’t know how he does it, but he always makes me feel like I’m the most beautiful lady in the room, Kyra, the sole female in the room, stated.

She also acknowledges how well they get along in bed.

Sedgwick asserts that there is a desire for sex and that it is highly important.

In a 2015 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bacon provided the following marital maintenance advice: The phrase goes, “Don’t follow celebrity marital advise, whatever you do.”

What Sedgwick’s wife appreciates most about her dedicated partner was disclosed to Good Housekeeping in 2012.

He is so morally upright. He has impeccable morals. He has strong moral principles, which I find appealing, and he doesn’t cheat or lie, the woman remarked. “Kevin’s calm demeanor and absence of “crazy” continue to astound me.”
