According to the actor, Shia LaBeouf, his mother has passed away.
In an email interview with The Hollywood Reporter that was published on Thursday, Shia LaBeouf, age 36, revealed that his mother passed away on August 27 at the age of 80.
According to the publication, the actor was there at the hospital in Los Angeles when his mother, Shayna Saide, passed away from heart failure. He was with her.
LaBeouf claimed that Saide was anxious while in the hospital, and she asked a lot of questions to the doctors. He was talking about the legacy that his mother left behind, and he added that she was loved by many people but “known by too few.”
He said that she was quite agitated. “Throughout her whole life, she had a strong interest in God and spirituality, but she never met him; this is why her last moments were so tragic.”
The actor, who had previously said in 2014 that he “become a Christian man” during the filming of the 2014 war picture Fury, has now integrated Catholicism into his life. Previously, he had stated that he “became a Christian man” during the making of Fury.
According to what he stated in an email to THR, “Her greatest gift to me was to advocate, in her loss, the importance of a connection with God.” “Not an interest, not just a belief, but a connection based on evidence as palpable as a hug. Her final gift to me was the ultimate inducement for faith. She was a nice girl.” “Not an interest, not just a belief, but a relationship built on proof as tactile as an embrace.”
LaBeouf, whose mother is Jewish and who had a bar mitzvah as well as a baptism in the past, studied Catholicism as he prepared for his impending role as Padre Pio, a Catholic saint whose name is also Padre Pio.
During a recent conversation about religion with Bishop Robert Barron of the Word on Fire Catholic Ministries, Shia LaBeouf shared his thoughts on religion. “It was seeing other people who have sinned beyond anything I could ever conceptualize also being found in Christ that made me feel like, ‘Oh, that gives me hope,'” LaBeouf said. “That gives me hope.” “When I began listening to the stories of other wicked individuals who had found their way — in this — it gave me the impression that I had permission to do what I was doing,” he said.
In an episode of his friend Jon Bernthal’s podcast, Real Ones, the actor revealed that the portrayal of his father Jeffrey Craig LaBeouf in his 2019 screenwriting debut, Honey Boy, as abusive was “f—ing bullshit,” as he opened up about making apologies with the people he’s hurt.
After portraying a character based on his own father in the film, in which the role was given the name James Lort, Shia LaBeouf remarked, “Here’s a guy who I’ve done insulted on a big scale.” LaBeouf said this after playing the role of James Lort.
During his prior stint in rehabilitation, Shia LaBeouf penned the script for the film Honey Boy. The celebrity recently shared the news that he has been clean and sober for 627 days after checking himself back into treatment in 2020 in response to charges of abuse made by his ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs. The couple started dating shortly after appearing together in the film.
During an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter, LaBeouf discussed the feedback that he received from his parents on the movie.
In 2019, Shia LaBeouf said, “Yeah, both my mum and my father have seen it.” “It was difficult for them to see it, but I believe also, they can have distance with it as well. I mean, they really, more than they care about this movie s—, they care about their baby, you know?” “It was tough for them to watch it. But I think also, they can have distance with it as well.”
