When Hathaway appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote her new film Serenity, she said that she has decided to stop drinking alcohol for the sake of her child, who expects her to be there “all the time.” Hathaway made this announcement during her promotion of the film.
Even though a lot of individuals are taking part in Dry January, Hathaway has decided to give up drinking for a significantly longer period of time than most others.
Hathaway said, “After eighteen years of drinking, I finally put an end to it in October.” My kid is coming to the age where he really needs me all the time in the mornings, so I’ve decided to stop drinking when he is at home. I don’t exactly enjoy the way I do it, and he’s getting to the age where he really needs me all the time.
Hathaway said that there have been occasions in the past in which she has not been proud of herself for being sober when having to deal with significant problems, such as dropping off her child at school.
She came clean and acknowledged, “I merely did one school run, leaving him off at school for one day.” Even though I wasn’t driving, the fact that I was hung over was reason enough for me to stay home. That was one that didn’t work for me at all.
The winner of the Oscar recalls that the night before, while on the island of Mauritius, she got drunk with her co-star Matthew McConaughey and his wife, Camila Alves, before having to sit through an early morning meeting with the director of her most recent film. Camila Alves is Matthew McConaughey’s wife.
