In the midst of Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard’s ongoing defamation trial, Eva Green has taken to social media to express her support for the actor.

The actor, who previously worked with Depp in the film Dark Shadows (2012), recently posted a photograph on Instagram that shows the two of them walking the red carpet together.

“I have no doubt that Johnny will emerge with his good name and wonderful heart revealed to the world, and life will be better than it has ever been for him and his family,” she wrote in the caption of the photo. “I have no doubt that Johnny will emerge with his good name and wonderful heart revealed to the world.”

Heard is being sued for $50 million (£38.2 million) by Depp. In an opinion piece that Heard wrote for the Washington Post in 2018, he claims that she hinted that he had assaulted her in some way.

Heard is responding to Depp’s lawsuit by filing a countersuit for $100 million (£80.9 million). In her complaint, she accuses Depp of leading a “smear campaign” against her and characterizes his case as a continuation of “ab u se and haras sment.”

On Thursday (19 May), before to the beginning of the court hearings for the day, Depp had welcomed applauding fans outside the courthouse, making a joke that he had brought “breakfast for all of them.”

Waffles, Mr. Depp said, in response to their inquiry as to what he had prepared for them.

In front of the crowd, he also pretended to be Captain Jack Sparrow and told them, “He’s still around someplace.”
