These stunning photos depict a guy wheelbarrowing his dying dog up to their beloved mountain for the last time.
Monty is a ten-year-old labradoodle that loves going on walks with his owner, Carlos Fresco, all over the nation.
The dynamic couple had previously climbed to the summit of Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons in Wales, and after learning that Monty was not feeling well, Carlos wanted to repeat the experience with him one more time.
Unfortunately, Monty was diagnosed with cancer and started to deteriorate fast; it was at this point that Carlos decided to take him for one last stroll.
Sadly, Monty went away after a fight with leukemia that lasted 18 months.
In spite of the fact that he was weak and exhausted, he “enjoyed all the fuss and attention” he received from well-wishers on his ascent to the peak.
“The people on the hills were really nice, and they were also heartbroken about his declining health.”
As a matter of fact, complete strangers inquired since to if they might assist in pushing Monty on his last voyage — many complete strangers shed a cry as we all adore our tiny four-legged pals.”
The support, encouragement, and real care for Monty that I have received from everyone has been very appreciated.
“That little boy had such tremendous impact on so many people. His grin and good nature made everyone he came into touch with a smile and take a minute to think on how life isn’t always that awful.”
We love that our tiny pets are never judgmental, that they are always there to greet you, and that they provide solace when things don’t go as planned.
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of the amazing individuals we met in Brecon and on the hills for their real friendliness and concern.”
