In one of his final public appearances, legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne was captured smiling and joking with his family — just days before his death.
The iconic Black Sabbath frontman passed away at 76 at his home in the UK, surrounded by loved ones and “bathed in love,” according to a heartfelt family statement released on July 22. His passing came only 17 days after a surprise reunion performance with the original Black Sabbath lineup — their first in over 20 years — which would ultimately be his final time on stage.
Despite enduring years of serious health problems, including a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2019, a video filmed on July 9 shows Ozzy in high spirits during a private family celebration. The touching moment, shared on TikTok by his daughter Kelly Osbourne, shows the rocker enjoying an unforgettable moment — the engagement of his daughter to Slipknot’s Sid Wilson.
In the video, Sharon Osbourne sits beside her husband of 43 years as the family quiets down. Wilson begins his proposal: “Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world…”
Before he could finish, Ozzy quips with a mischievous grin, “F**k off, you’re not marrying my daughter.”
The room erupts in laughter, including Kelly herself. Undeterred, Wilson goes on: “Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you. So, in front of your family and all of our friends… Kelly, will you marry me?”
As Wilson slips the ring on her finger, Ozzy is seen smiling proudly in the background — a moment of light and love now made all the more moving.
In their statement, the Osbourne family wrote: “It is with more sadness than words can express that we announce the passing of our beloved Ozzy Osbourne this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask for privacy as we grieve.”
Ozzy Osbourne rose to fame in the late 1960s and ’70s as the powerful voice of Black Sabbath, a band that helped define the heavy metal genre. Known for his intense performances and infamous antics — including the notorious bat incident — he became known as the “Prince of Darkness.”
@kellyosbourneyo The biggest surprise! I’m so so happy!
But his later years revealed a different side. Through the hit MTV series The Osbournes, fans saw a loving, eccentric father and husband who brought humor and warmth into millions of homes.
Ozzy’s legacy lives on — not only through his music and outrageous persona, but in cherished family memories like this final, joyful moment.
