There is a large number of people all around the world that are fans of Martha Stewart.
With that being said, she has been subjected to criticism for a recent social media post that she made while she was on a vacation to Greenland. Many people have referred to this post as “tone-deaf.”
The 82-year-old model received a lot of praise earlier this year when she modeled for the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated in May. However, her most recent Instagram post has not been able to generate the same degree of excitement from her followers.
During her journey around the east coast of Greenland, Stewart posted a photograph of herself on Tuesday, August 29, on her social media account. One of numerous photographs, this one depicts the businesswoman and television personality enjoying a drink, and the text reads as follows:
“Swanhellenic Cruises has successfully completed the inaugural zodiac excursion, which took them into a breathtaking fjord located off the east coast of Greenland. In terms of our beverages for tonight, we have really just scratched the surface.
Despite the fact that Stewart’s tweet was almost certainly meant to be innocent, it rapidly garnered the ire of followers who believed that her usage of the phrase “small iceberg” for her drink was improper. The comments section of Stewart’s post was rapidly flooded with people who were critical of her for referring to a little iceberg at a time when the “ice caps are melting.”
A person on Instagram cautioned, “Martha, the ice caps are melting; you shouldn’t put them in your drink.”
Another person expressed their disagreement by saying, “I generally love Martha and the excesses of her life because he is about beautiful gardens, homes, and food, but wealthy white people drinking their iceberg cocktails while the planet is in flames is a bit tone deaf.” Therefore, while the earth is warming up as a result of the riches of a few thousand people, billionaires fly to melting icebergs, scoop them up, and utilize them to keep their beverages at a cool temperature.
