According to reports, Jocelynn Rojo Carranza, who was 11 years old, committed herself after being subjected to months of harassment at school. This tragic event has left a town in Texas in a state of shock and disbelief. Her heartbroken mother, Marbella Carranza, asserts that bullies made fun of Jocelynn because of the legal status of her family and taunted her with warnings that immigration officials would take her parents away.

Marbella claims that the school did not provide her with enough information on the gravity of the problem, despite the fact that her daughter had frequently requested assistance. “It appears that the school was aware of what was going on, but they never informed me about it,” she said to the CNN station KUVN.

Despite the fact that the Gainesville Independent School District has not acknowledged whether or not they were aware of the bullying, they have issued a statement that emphasizes their policy on student safety and anti-bullying initiatives.

The body of Jocelynn was found unconscious on February 3 at the residence that she shared with her family in Gainesville. She unfortunately lost suddenly five days later. The little girl who had a passion for dancing, swinging, and spending time with her family was celebrated by those who were fortunate enough to know her during her burial. According to the Boys and Girls Club of Cooke County, which paid respect to the deceased and urged compassion, “you never know what someone is going through.”

The terrible tale of Jocelynn serves as a harsh reminder of the catastrophic consequences of bullying, which is something that can never be disregarded. This is especially important now that her bereaved mother is demanding justice.
