We are pleased to provide you with an uplifting update on Hope’s journey today. The change that he has undergone is quite incredible, and his narrative is one of love and perseverance.
An opportunity for a young youngster to start again.
Hope’s tale is one that will leave you feeling profoundly moved. In the year 2016, Anja Ringgren Lovén offers a unique Hope’s narrative that will leave a lasting impression on your heart. An extraordinary humanitarian named Anja Ringgren Lovén found a little kid who was just two years old and living alone in a town in Nigeria in the year the year 2016.
Given his frailty and the fact that his parents had abandoned him, he need care and assistance. This voyage, which was full of love and new beginnings, exemplifies the power of compassion that exists among the human race.
Nevertheless, a new chapter was about to begin in his life. There was not a single second of hesitation on the part of Anja, the founder and director of Land of Hope, an organization that is committed to rescuing and caring for children who have been abandoned. She took him in, gave him the name Hope, and continued to provide him with care as he made his way toward recovery along with her team.
Anja has already prevented a great number of children from suffering from hunger and other forms of adversity, and she continues to be unwavering in her commitment to go on with this revolutionary effort.
Anja Ringgren Lovén made a courageous move in 2012 when she established a Danish non-governmental organization with a strong aim. The organization’s mission is to give education and unshakable support for children who are in need, with the goal of guaranteeing a better future for these children.
In the following year, she traveled to Nigeria for the first time, fully prepared to make a difference in people’s lives. She was determined to make a meaningful impact. They have created something absolutely remarkable together, and Anja is married to David Umem, a Nigerian guy. Together, they have constructed something.
They have rescued more than one hundred children who had been abandoned by their family via their non-governmental organization, which is called Land of Hope. However, they did not cease doing that! They constructed what is now recognized as the largest children’s center in West Africa, which is called Land of Hope in Akwa Ibom. This facility is a safe haven where these children may recover, develop, and regain their childhood. They did this with commitment and love.

According to what Anja said in one of her interviews, “I was born and raised in Denmark, which is considered to be one of the safest and richest countries in the world.” As a result, living and working in Nigeria has been an experience that has been both difficult and educational.
“I became a Nigerian in 2014 when I gave birth to David Jr., the first kid that David and I had together. Being a mother to a Nigerian baby and having lived in Nigeria for seven years at this point has effectively made me a Nigerian. However, prior to my trip to Nigeria, I had spent a significant amount of time in Africa working as a humanitarian worker, which meant that I had a great deal of work experience in Africa. Nigeria, on the other hand, is a nation that is plagued by a huge number of issues. As for me, this is a major cause for worry.
Hope is just one of the many youngsters whose lives have been fundamentally altered as a result of Anja and her team’s efforts. In spite of the fact that his formative years were fraught with challenges, destiny had something far more significant in store for him. In January of 2016, Anja and her colleagues made the discovery that Hope was in a critical state; yet, they were determined to not conclude his narrative at that point. They stepped in and provided him with immediate medical attention, sustenance, and most importantly, support and affection.
“David, our team and I were on a rescue mission when we got a tip from a local villager about a young child who needed to be rescued,” Anja stated in reference to the events that led to Hope’s rescue during the expedition. To investigate the situation, we decided to go to the village.
“Before we rescued Hope, we had previously rescued more than fifty children, all of them were in a horrific state, so we were well-prepared for the situation. Hope’s parents were absent from the hamlet, and they had abandoned him on the street with no one else around. Hope was sent to the hospital for treatment, and the rest, as they say, continues to be history. Currently, he is a young kid who is in excellent health and has a lot of strength. He enjoys going to school and playing with his friends at Land of Hope.
Anja said in one of her Instagram posts from the year 2024, “It has been almost nine years since I rescued Hope.” “Love is the healer, and time flies.”

The tale of how Hope was saved was shared by Anja in another article. She said, “Hope was born in January of 2013, which means that he is ten years old today.” Every single person on the planet was able to see the narrative of his rescue, and he became the public face of our organization.
“The growth of hope is a source of inspiration. During the time that I discovered him, his life was at a turning point. But love and perseverance emerged victorious in the end. Yesterday, the pupils at Hope’s school had a cultural day to commemorate the conclusion of the schooling session.
Hope wore an agbada, which is a traditional garment worn by many people in Nigeria, but most often by members of the Yoruba tribe and across practically all of West Africa.
Not so long ago, Anja uploaded a video to her Instagram account that was both strong and heartbreaking. The movie did an excellent job of tracing Hope’s journey from the time she first discovered him to the present day, demonstrating his remarkable recovery, both physically and emotionally, over the course of the years. There are now more than 16,000 people who have liked the video, but the comments that are really emotional are what really stand out. These remarks demonstrate the profound love and concern that people have for Hope and other children who are in circumstances that are similar to Hope’s.
“I remember… This is so emotional,” wrote one individual in their submission. I pray that God blesses you and everyone else who has contributed to this charity. One more person chimed in, saying, “Every time I watch the story, my eyes well up with tears!” Both you and your team are a tremendous source of motivation. A third reader said, “This is without a doubt one of the most breathtaking tales ever! To everyone of you, you are such genuine heroes!
In addition, here is yet another motivational tale of a world-famous dancer, which serves as a demonstration of the transformational potential of adoption, the power of love, and the importance of dedication. Her journey has been absolutely remarkable, beginning with her being referred to as the “Devil’s Child” at an orphanage and culminating with her performing on the stages of prominent ballet companies.
