After marrying the man who would become the love of her life, Danielle Davis had high hopes for the future. Unfortunately, her happiness was cut short when her husband, who had been married for just seven months, was involved in a motorbike accident and ended up needing life support immediately after the accident.

The doctors were pessimistic about his chances of recovery and suggested to Danielle that she might think about removing him off life support. In spite of this, Danielle made the extraordinary decision to continue keeping her husband, Matt, on life support in the hopes of a miracle.

Danielle explained her conviction by saying, “I felt that God could carry him through, and God could handle the situation.” Both of these statements are true.

When it became clear that Matt could not be treated in the hospital, he was taken home, and Danielle, together with her mother-in-law, took on the burden of providing him with care and making sure that he was as comfortable as possible. Considering that he is just going to be a corpse on a bed, Danielle made the following observation: “Let’s give him the best view in the world.”

After a period of time had passed and hope had been dwindling, Matt unexpectedly awoke everyone. That he was able to open his eyes was seen as a miraculous occurrence. After that, he started with a slow and steady process of psychological and physical recuperation. When they asked her husband what he wanted to eat, he replied in a barely audible whisper, stating, “I’m not kidding, he says, ‘buffalo chicken wrap from Cheddar’s,'” which had always been his favorite. This answered Danielle’s concerns regarding the fact that her husband’s personality had not altered. All of us turned around since we were able to comprehend what he had spoken.

Danielle added that after some time had passed, they put him in a different rehabilitation program that lasted for two and a half months, and then he departed on his own with a walker.

Matt does not remember falling in love with or being married to Danielle, despite the fact that it has taken him some time to retrieve his sense of humor and his long-term memory. In essence, they are rediscovering each other at this time. It is he who refers to her as “baby” or “doughnut,” while she refers to him as “Mattie” or “cake.”

They take pleasure in one other’s presence by participating in hobbies such as playing Scrabble and going to yoga sessions together. As Danielle pointed out, he just began getting behind the wheel of a stick shift vehicle for pleasure since he has a passion for automobiles.

In spite of the challenges, Matt has managed to maintain his sense of humor, and he even has a humorous bit of advise for spouses, which is as follows: “Take out the trash because there might be a day when you can’t.”

A powerful illustration of the efficacy of prayer and confidence in God is provided by Matt’s experience. One of the people who saw his miraculous voyage made the following observation: “Just have faith; nothing is too big for our God.” One more person chimed in, saying, “With God, anything is possible.”
