“In my mind, I never didn’t want us to be together,” the actor from Zoolander said before going on to explain what made seeing each other again such a memorable experience.
Christine Taylor, Ben Stiller’s wife, is the subject of an open and honest discussion about their relationship.
Stiller described in a recent interview with The New York Times how the pair was able to find their way back to each other and love their marriage even more after they had separated from Taylor.
“When we separated, it was just having space to see what our relationship was, what my life felt like when we weren’t in that relationship, how much I loved our family unit,” Stiller said to us. Even though we were apart for a period of time that was perhaps three or four years, we never lost touch with one another. There was never a time when I didn’t want us to be together in my head.
The actors, who had been married since the year 2000 and had two children together, a daughter named Ella who is 22 years old and a son named Quinlin who is 19 years old, divorced in 2017, but they reunited after they moved back in together during the epidemic.
“I don’t know where Christine was, you’d have to ask her, but COVID put us all together in the same house,” the director of Severance revealed, adding that it took “almost a year of living in the same house before we were actually together” again. “I don’t know where Christine was.”
“But I’m so grateful for it, and I think not that many people do come back together when they separate,” he said enthusiastically. “When you return, there is nothing else that can compare to it. Because you are aware that we would not be able to have what you have, you have a far deeper appreciation for what you have.

In February of 2022, Stiller made the first announcement that he and Taylor had reunited. He said to Esquire at the time, “We were separated and got back together and we’re happy about that.” We have all had a lovely experience as a result of this. It was a surprise, and it was one of the things that emerged as a result of the epidemic.
During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2023, Taylor disclosed the reason for their breakup, stating that she and Stiller “got married very quickly after meeting each other” and that they ultimately “started to grow in different directions.”
In spite of the fact that they had separated as a marriage, she said that they had “always remained a family unit.” She stated that their separation was “not something we took lightly.”
When we were both at this point in our life, it was almost as if we were at a standstill, trying to figure out what would be best for each other at this particular stage of our lives. “That time apart for each of us to sort of get to know who we are — I think we have these growth spurts even as adults,” she remarked at the time. “It’s a time for everybody to figure out who they are.” “I feel like we needed some time to figure that out.”
Following the conclusion of their reconciliation, Taylor said that she and Stiller are “so good” and that they had come to the realization that their “history” together afforded them a degree of “freedom and comfort.”
