When we are traveling the globe, hotels make every effort to make us feel as if we are staying in our own homes. However, even the most exquisite accommodations might have some hidden shortcomings. In spite of their polished looks, even five-star hotels are not immune to shocks. Some of these surprises might leave us feeling dissatisfied or even a bit terrified depending on the circumstances.

I used to travel for business, and because of my customary schedule, I would typically arrive at my destination at around eleven o’clock at night. There have been times when I have entered a room and immediately fallen into bed without even turning on the light, only to discover that someone was already asleep. This has occurred three times already.

“I’ve had a couple of hotels that I’ve stopped at late at night while I was on a road trip, and the owner of the hotel was chopping wood outside when I pulled up,” I said. Didn’t get a good night’s sleep on those evenings.”

As soon as I opened the door to my hotel room, I was immediately confronted with the aroma of air freshener, which was so strong that it caused me to get a headache. I had the impression that the room was attempting to conceal something. Indeed, I discovered areas of mold in the bathroom, as well as a moisture in the carpet that seemed to be suspicious in the vicinity of the bed. The air freshener was covering up a far more unpleasant odor, which was the odor of mildew and water that had been stagnant. Instantaneously, I gathered my belongings and departed.

I recall that there was a little hotel in London, and that it was located only a few streets away from King’s Cross. Even though we arrived late, there was just one person at the front desk. He informed us about breakfast, internet access, and other amenities.

You may return to the upper floor at around eight o’clock, and the individual who is in charge of the Internet café will be returning.Breakfast is served by the kitchen in the morning at six o’clock, and the cleaning team often begins cleaning rooms around ten o’clock. Similar things to that. The eerie aspect about it? At that location, he was the lone employee. However, he had distinct personalities for each of these roles, and he talked about “the others” in the third person. He was the one in charge of the computers, as well as the person who was responsible for cooking and cleaning. Because we were only there for a few of nights, we were never really sure if he was insane or simply trying to be amusing during our whole time.

When I attempted to open the window in my hotel room, I discovered that it was entirely closed and was not open at all. I inquired about it at the front desk, and they provided me with some evasive explanation on the subject of “safety regulations.” When I had a strange feeling about the hotel, I decided to check up reviews on it. It has come to light that a number of previous visitors have complained a foul odor emanating from the outside of the property, and some of them have even reported bugs attempting to enter the premises. Because the windows were not shut for safety, they were preventing the horrors that were occurring outside from entering the room.

My girlfriend and I spent the night in a cabin in the middle of the forest when we were in Mexico. Both power and running water are absent. Due to the fact that we are from Central Europe, we are not used to seeing harmful fauna such as scorpions, spiders, and other such creatures. Additionally, there was a stunning cenote in the vicinity, and at one point, it began to pour like crazy. The afternoon was full with wonders. To a lesser extent, the night.

In the cabin that we were staying in, there was a bed that had a mosquito net that had enormous holes in it. In the hut, it was completely dark when we laid down and made ourselves comfortable in an attempt to get some sleep. Because I was experiencing some unease, I made the decision to use the flashlight on my phone to search the hut for any insects. Not a good idea. The walls and ceiling were covered with hundreds of large spiders, and they were everywhere. A night of sleep that was not the finest. As a result, I was wrapped up like a mummy in every article of clothes that we had brought along with us.

The cleaning staff came in not once, but twice, despite the fact that I had a sign that said “Do Not Disturb” on my door. I was in the shower when they made their second attempt, and they hardly apologized before hurriedly shutting the door behind them. As a result of the unease it caused me, I began to conceal my valuables inside my bag. Later, I noticed a few small things missing—nothing huge, but enough to know they’d been snooping.

“My spouse and I stayed at a massive hotel complex which consisted of one hotel who bought almost every other hotel around it. We were placed in one of the antique purchases after purchasing the web bargain that was being offered. There was this odd 4×4 piece of plywood that was hanging down from the ceiling just enough so it felt like someone could watch you through the crack but you couldn’t see in it. We hung up the do not disturb sign and went to tourist around. We came back and the TV was on at maximum volume. We left and returned again and the shower curtain had fallen down. Good thing it was only a one night stay…that room just had the feeling of someone there.”

“During our time in London, my wife and I slept at a hotel that is quite well-known. Despite the fact that the rooms were quite pleasant, there was a door that enabled someone to move freely between our room and the one next to us. In order to do this, you were had to open the door to my room, and then someone else was required to open the door to the room next to mine. When it came to each door, there was just one handle. I was awakened in the middle of the night on one occasion, and I had the impression that I had seen someone moving about. I was under the impression that it was my wife since it was the middle of the night and it was dark. My divider door was slightly ajar when I woke up the next morning.

at the past, I stayed at a bed and breakfast that had a common bathroom. The first time I woke up, it was probably about two in the morning, and I had a strong want to use the restroom. The restroom was located down the corridor, which was not an excessive distance but felt like such an effort to me in my exhausted condition. When I arrived to the restroom, I opened the door and saw a man who was dressed in a mime costume from head to toe. He was simply standing there in the bathroom. Everything from having your face painted to everything else. Despite the fact that he was squatting down on the floor, his pants were still pulled up. After a few moment of looking at him, he smiled and waved at me before beginning to push me in silence. I dashed back to my room and shut the door before leaving. It is without a doubt the most peculiar event I have ever seen, and I am still unsure if I was just really exhausted and seeing things or anything more.

At the time, I was a teenager and I was residing in a youth hostel in Tel Aviv. I recall being awakened up in the middle of the night by someone who said, “It’s okay, don’t worry, go back to sleep.” I don’t believe that I was really awake; rather, I was more of a half-conscious situation. Whatever the case may be, I discovered that my wallet had been taken when I woke up in the morning.

In her capacity as a television advertisements producer, my girlfriend often goes to South American countries. When she awoke one night at about three in the morning, she saw a male hotel employee standing at the foot of her bed and peering out at her. When they reviewed the surveillance footage, they discovered that he had been doing it for hours that night as well as for the three nights before.
