The famed sports announcer Dick Vitale has an abundance of reasons to rejoice over this Christmas season, as he has just disclosed that he has been cancer-free.

After making the statement earlier this month that he was waiting for the results of a recent scan, the 85-year-old man expressed his joy on social media by sharing the news that he is now officially cancer-free.

“Santa Claus arrived early, and Dr. Rick Brown phoned to tell me that my PET scan, which was performed at seven in the morning, came back clear of cancer! Oh my goodness, I am so grateful to each and every one of you for your support. Yes, I am lowering the nets, because it is my National Championship! X Thursday, December 12th, Vitale penned a letter.

In the beginning of this month, Vitale said that he was obsessed with the date, which was the day he was scheduled to have “a major scan” to assess whether or not he had eradicated his cancer following thirty rounds of radiation therapy.

There has been a lot of talk about the persistent worry that Vitale has been experiencing in relation to his health.

“I am in a great mood, yet I am experiencing a great deal of nervousness before the examination. “I’m sure that cancer patients are familiar with that sensation,” Vitale had previously written on X.

Following the discovery of cancer in his lymph nodes, the ESPN broadcaster stated in June that he was required to go through with a chemotherapy procedure.

In July of 2023, Vitale disclosed that he had been diagnosed with cancer of the vocal cords.

During the year 2021, he was diagnosed with lymphoma and melanoma, both of which he later declared to be in remission during the month of August 2020.

At the time, he said that he “felt trapped” due to the fact that he was unable to talk for a period of three months while undergoing therapy.

“[Talking has] been my means of subsistence…… When asked about his reputation, he said, “I am known for being a talkative kind of guy, going out, and having fun.” “Not just the games, but throughout the whole of my life… I was oblivious to it. I longed to be alone myself. I had a sense of confinement. I had a sense of confinement. To put it simply, I was unable to. During that time period, Vitale shared his feelings with Graham Bensinger on his program, In Depth with Graham Bensinger. “I just felt trapped,” he said.
