A confession made by one of the accused shooters on the stand has caused the trial of those who are accused of killing Young Dolph to get off to a start that is nothing short of explosive. This confession even implicated his co-defendant.
Cornelius Smith acknowledged that he was the one who was seen shooting the semi-automatic handgun in the surveillance tape that was taken in November 2021 and documented the loss of the Memphis rap sensation. This confession was made during his testimony on Monday.
It is said by Smith that he did not feel any emotions at the time that he took Dolph’s life; rather, he was only seeking to fill his pockets with cash, specifically one hundred thousand dollars, which was paid for by Yo Gotti’s brother Big Jook, who had passed away in January.

Smith asserts that they followed Dolph in the days leading up to his Thanksgiving trip, and that they ultimately followed him to his favorite cookie store, where they opened fire on him. He said in his testimony, “At the time, I was not experiencing anything.” All I was doing was attempting to get some cash… He was standing near the window when I noticed him. The moment I stepped out of the vehicle, I immediately began photographing.
There were several bumps on the road during the hit… Smith suffered injuries after being shot in the shoulder, the arm, and the leg by Dolph’s brother, who returned fire. Smith was left bleeding until he was able to use a medical kit to treat his wounds in an apartment located nearby.

Over the course of many years, the rivalry that existed between the camps of Dolph and Yo Gotti was well known in the hip hop community, particularly in Memphis.
Once upon a time, in the year 2017, Dolph shared with us his perspective on the reasons for the tense relationship between Gotti, Jook, and Blac Youngsta. In a nutshell, he said that the reason was all about money.
