Nyima Ward, a model who was also the son of the fashion icon Tish Goff, has passed away. He was 27 years old.
It was on May 29 when Ward passed away, as stated in his web obituary. Nobody was able to determine what caused the loss. Nyima Lee Ward, who was born in New York City on January 2, 1997, and whose first name in Tibetan means “the Sun,” is being remembered as someone who “lived fiercely, loved deeply, and made memories with the kind of fervor that only a young man who never met a stranger could do.” Ward’s first name originates from the Tibetan language and means “the Sun.”
Ward, who made his debut as a model after turning 18, modeled for a variety of labels, including Anna Sui and Vivienne Tam, among others during his career. His mother and her boyfriend, David Bonnouvrier, owner of DNA Models, were the ones who ultimately inspired Ward to pursue a career in modeling. Additionally, Ward’s father, Aaron Ward, was a model.
“My mother and father both worked as models. “Back in the day, my dad was involved in a few campaigns for Calvin Klein,” Ward said in an interview with W magazine in 2017. “And my mom started dating David [Bonnouvrier, owner of] DNA [Models] and then they’ve just been trying to get me to sign forever and I was always like, ‘Nah, nah.’ And then I turned 18 and I was like, ‘Might as well try it.'”
Ward, who is passionate in exploring new places, interacting with animals, and spending time in the ocean, made his debut on the catwalk at Sui’s fashion show in February of 2015. The last time that Ward’s mother had walked the runway was only 23 years earlier, during Sui’s fashion show.
Aaron de Mey, a makeup artist, paid homage to Ward by posting a carousel on Instagram that included a photograph of Ward appearing on the cover of a magazine.
Under the caption “My dearest Nyima 🫅🏻 Rest in peace. 🕊️,” de Mey expresses his sentiments. “To put it simply, I admire you…always a source of excitement, always a source of pleasure, always compassionate, and always kind. Best wishes to your mother and father, as well as to all of your other friends and family members.
In the 1990s, Goff, who is now 47 years old, was a model who captivated the world of modeling and featured in a number of international publications. She participated in a substantial number of high-profile campaigns, such as those for Christian Dior, Versace, and Louis Vuitton, amongst others, and she often brought Ward along with her to the shoots she participated in. After that, he would make an appearance in Vogue with his mother.
“We shot for American Vogue when I was 16 or 15,” according to his interview with W. “And we were able to get a very amazing photo. She was wearing a dress that was completely out of this world, and I was wearing a Ralph Lauren suit. We were both flying in the air together. It was a thrill. In addition, we have shot a great deal of times while I was a child.
Both Ward’s mother and father are survivors of his passing.
