According to Amazon MGM Studios, the movie is scheduled to be released on August 23.
The rebranding of Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut is now underway. A new title and release date have been announced for the movie that was once known as Pussy Island. Channing Tatum, who is now Kravitz’s fiance, will be appearing in the film.

In a statement released on Friday, Amazon MGM Studios said that the film will now be titled Blink Twice and will be released on August 23. Alongside E.T. Feigenbaum, Kravitz contributed to the writing of the screenplay.

An official logline for the production states that Tatum will play the role of Slater King, a software millionaire who has a romantic relationship with Frida, a cocktail waitress played by Naomi Ackie. Frida is brought along by him on a trip to a gorgeous island vacation with her friends, but a sequence of bizarre occurrences cause her to doubt the validity of the situation. Alia Shawkat, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Christian Slater, Kylie MacLachlan, and Geena Davis are among the celebrities that appear in the ensemble cast of the psychological thriller.

During an interview that took place in 2022 for the Fall Women’s Fashion issue of WSJ Magazine, Kravitz revealed that the story “was born out of a lot of anger and frustration around the lack of conversation about the treatment of women, particularly in industries that have a lot of money in them, such as Hollywood, the tech world, and all of that.”

As a result of hearing tales of powerful men inviting women to secluded islands for hazy hedonist free-for-alls, Kravitz started writing some years ago, before the #MeToo movement that sparked a shakeup in Hollywood, with the intention of imagining the version of reality that she would want to see instead.

“That very world was the source of the title. What she meant to say about the narrative’s first name was that “the title is the seed of the story.” “It represents this time where it would be acceptable for a group of men to call a place that, and the illusion that we’re out of that time now.”

This will be a shift for the actor, since Tatum will be playing a different character.

According to the celebrity, whose firm, Free Association, is co-producing the film, “It’s always really intriguing to have someone bring you something that literally no one else has ever thought of you for,” the star said in an interview with WSJ Magazine.

Even though Kravitz and Tatum had never met before the film, they have since developed a strong relationship, both in their personal lives and in their professional lives. Kravitz said that she wanted Tatum to portray the part since he “hadn’t played a dark character before.” This was in reference to her choice to hire the former Magic Mike actor in the film.

“I think that’s exciting to watch someone who’s mostly played boy next door, good guy, love interest, all of that,” remarked the actress. “Even from a distance, before I knew him, I had the impression that he was a feminist and that he was not scared to explore that darkness because he is aware that he is not that. I wanted to meet with him because of this reason, which is why I was pulled to him. And it turned out that I was correct.”

Tatum had previously said to Entertainment Tonight that he was “in awe” of Kravitz’s directing abilities back when they were shooting on location in Yucatan.

To quote him, “We’re doing some really, really cool stuff,” he said in reference to the movie. “It’s super stylized and yet really fun, but has a very deep and I think a shocking sort of message at some point.”

At the end of October, Entertainment Tonight (ET) announced that Kravitz, who is 35 years old, and Channing, who is 43 years old, had discreetly gotten engaged more than two years after starting relationship rumors.
