There is no need for any kind of special treatment for the Chiefs or their mothers when they come to Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que.
The well-known barbecue restaurant, which is located inside a petrol station, is well-known for serving a variety of smoked meats as well as sandwiches. In addition, because of how popular it is, it has also become well-known for the queue that goes all the way around the building.
The most recent sighting of Travis Kelce’s mother Donna at the restaurant took place on Thursday, when she was seen waiting in line. She began the day of the game there before meeting up with Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of her son’s romantic interest, in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium.
Victor Brummel, the general manager of Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que, told PEOPLE that the Kelces and the other members of the Kansas City football team “just want to wait in line like everybody else.”
“It’s a natural and expected aspect of the experience. They do not want to have the impression that they are superior than everyone else. They simply want to come and have fun,” Brummel said further.
According to Brummel, Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback for the Chiefs, often orders takeaway from Joe’s. At the very least once every week, defensive tackle Chris Jones participates in team practices. In addition, several of the musicians have placed huge orders to take back to their families and friends to share with them before performances, at parties, and in other settings.
“The burnt ends or the Z-Man is their go to,” adds Brummel, “and they’ve got to have the fries.” The sportsmen place their orders. On a toasted Kaiser sandwich, the Z-Man mixes brisket, chicken, pork, portobello, and portobello mushrooms with BBQ mayo, two onion rings, and smoked provolone cheese.
The eatery is packed with patrons both before and after sporting events. “It’s been exciting,” Brummel adds of the situation.
However, the general manager claims that he has no problem sharing the success of the restaurant with other prominent establishments in the neighborhood, such as Arthur Bryant’s and Gates.
“The big thing for us is the barbecue community,” according to him. “When people are coming in town, if they’re just enjoying barbecue — any type of barbecue — that’s what we want to see.”
Even though Swift has not yet been to Joe’s, she did go all the way back to Kansas City to support Travis for his game against the Denver Broncos. On Thursday, photos were taken of Taylor Swift and Donna together in a hotel room; in one of the photos, Swift can be seen drinking a drink and waving to her followers.
Additionally, Swift was spotted conversing with Ed, the patriarch of the Kelce family.
Swift and Donna have now seen Travis play from the same suite for all three of the previous games they have attended. Before departing the stadium with the athlete to celebrate his team’s victory with pals at a postgame party in Kansas City, the pop singer enjoyed the game his team played against the Chicago Bears on September 24 from the comfort of his suite at the stadium.
One week later, when the Kansas City Chiefs were playing the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Swift was there to root for Travis with a large crowd of her celebrity pals.
People magazine was recently given information by a person who is close to the Kelce family and said that “Donna likes Taylor and thinks that she’s very sweet and down to earth.”
