A recent high school graduate from Nebraska whose bones were discovered burning in a bonfire pit in a remote desert region in Arizona is the subject of an investigation into the passing by the local authorities.

The corpse of 18-year-old Parker League was discovered on June 12 in the Tonto National Forest in a remote section of the state known as Bullfrog Canyon. League had been visiting friends in Tempe before to his passing. According to ABC15, the teenager had traveled to Arizona on June 9 and intended to fly back to their home state on June 12.

“I knew he had a place to stay; I knew he got there,” his brother Hunter League said in an interview with ABC15. “We were texting. That brings us to the end. It’s tough to get over the fact that he was the kindest child in the whole world.

His passing is being investigated as a possible murder by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

“The passing of Mr. League was malicious and is actively being worked by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit,” the agency said in a news statement.

The office of the coroner has not yet determined what caused the person’s passing.

According to Hunter League, who spoke with ABC15, the family just found out that his brother’s bank account had been hacked by an unauthorized third party.

“We basically found out that someone was using his debit card to get food and tried to pay their electric bill with it,” he added. “We found out that someone was using his debit card to get food and try to pay their electric bill.”

According to the sheriff’s office, a member of League’s family filed a complaint of her disappearance on June 15.
