Bill Thorn, the director of the Regina Humane Society, said that Jax seemed to be very hungry when he arrived, which is an indication that he may have been homeless for some time. Jax was brought in by a volunteer. To make up for this oversight, the sanctuary provided Jax with the nourishment he need to keep his health intact.

There has been a significant amount of time that has been spent with Jax residing at the Regina Humane Society. He has been quite diligent in his search for a permanent home; yet, prospective adopters have very seldom shown interest in him. The staff at the shelter were left feeling disheartened since Jax’s kennel was still vacant despite his many admirable qualities. They did not waiver from their intention to fulfill Jax’s dream of moving into a warm and welcoming house, however.

Despite this, there was no interest in adopting Jax. When anybody approached near Jax’s kennel, he would let out a loud bark, and the staff was concerned that this would discourage those who were interested in adopting him. According to Thorn, Jax was a good dog that only craved the company of humans; nevertheless, people on the outside often misconstrued what he was trying to communicate.

On March 3, 2023, Jax achieved his long-term goal by locating the place he would call home for the rest of his life. In recognition of Jax’s departure from the shelter, the staff members organized a fantastic farewell for him, and they gathered in the lobby to bid him farewell. They were unprepared for Jax’s heartfelt goodbye to each colleague, which made the transition after he left much more difficult for everyone.
