The singer Lionel Richie has decided against undergoing cosmetic surgery.
The musician, who is 73 years old, spoke about his fears over surgery in a recent interview with The Daily Mail. He stated his concerns regarding the procedure.
“[Plastic surgery] binds you to that hospital bed for that year [while you heal], and after that, you can’t go back to your natural state; you’re stuck there… You attempt to go back to the reset, but you can’t,” Richie remarked, adding, “[And] that **** goes wrong!”
Richie cited this as one of the reasons for his decision to abstain from undergoing cosmetic surgery: “God might not recognize me, so I want to make sure he knows me.”

The artist known for his hit song “Hello” uses his own, more natural tactics to put the brakes on the aging process. These include getting enough sleep, consuming large amounts of water, and having sexual encounters with the woman he has loved for as long as he can remember, model Lisa Parigi.
“Water, sleep, and sweat, but not too much red meat,” he said. “I am well aware of how tedious it is. [Sex] is also an option, and it’s healthy for your cardiovascular system.
After Richie’s performance at King Charles III’s coronation celebration on Sunday, many spectators took to Twitter to comment on just how little the artist had aged over the course of his five decades in the limelight. This led to comments and inquiries concerning Richie’s young look.
“How can Lionel be 73 years old when he looks so much younger?” While another user made a joke about it, one person wrote, “He’s been dancing on the ceiling since the 80s gravity in reverse.”
During his performance for the newly crowned king and queen at Windsor Castle, the judge from American Idol had the crowd singing along by screaming out his classics, “Easy (Like Sunday Morning)” and “All Night Long.”
It was clear that the royal family was pleased to have him there as well, as seen by Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who waved miniature Union Jack flags in delight, and Prince Charles, who got up on his feet to demonstrate some of his dancing routines. The children of Prince William and Kate Middleton are Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Richie told ET during the 9th Annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony that it was an “honor” to take part in the crowning celebrations, which took place at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
