Simone Biles has established herself as a legendary figure in the sport of gymnastics in her own right. She is the proud winner of seven Olympic medals and 25 World Championship medals, making her one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the United States. Her notoriety skyrocketed as a result of the remarkable achievements she put in at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, when she won gold medals in the vault, floor, and all-around competitions.

Biles is not only a phenomenal athlete, but she is also an outstanding advocate for problems pertaining to mental health. Despite the fact that she took part in contests that helped the United States achieve its goal of qualifying for the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020, she ultimately decided not to compete in the athletic event. Her choice was applauded by both her supporters and members of the sports world, and it sparked a discussion about how greater care should be provided for the mental health of athletes.

Now, Biles will serve as a more direct source of motivation for her parents and sister. She has struggled through adversity in her own life, but she has always been there for her family, both in their times of need and in their times of happiness. And on April 22, 2023, Biles had plenty of reasons to rejoice as she tied the knot with American football player Jonathan Owens. The couple had been together for five years. Since the month of August 2020, the two have been together.

However, despite the fact that it was undeniably a happy day for the newlyweds, Biles was subjected to a great deal of criticism regarding her appearance on the day of her wedding. The whole of the cost of Biles’ costume was less than $200, and she received feedback on the style of her hair, among other things. Since then, the Olympic star has provided her response to all of the criticism that was directed on her.

Biles entered the world on March 14th, 1997 in the city of Columbus, Ohio. She was one of her family’s four children, all of whom would ultimately end up in the system for children in need of foster care. According to Sky News, Biles’s mother would often feed a stray cat instead of her children, which resulted in the children being hungry. Biles said, “She always fed it, but she never fed us,” in reference to the pet.

Biles and her younger sister were adopted by her mother’s parents in 2003 when her maternal grandparents discovered that their grandkids were living in foster care. The two other children were adopted by Biles’ aunt.

In 2012, Biles came to the conclusion that she would be better able to concentrate on her gymnastics talents and training if she attended home school rather than a traditional school setting. It was stated that she dedicated anything from 20 to 30 hours per week to her gymnastics training. Biles finally made the decision to compete at the professional level in gymnastics, and she hasn’t looked back since making that decision.

Biles has certainly done well for herself in the field of athletics, as shown by the fact that she won seven medals in the Olympics. Her private life has had its fair share of highs and lows, but in the most recent years, Biles has had many reasons to rejoice in her life and her accomplishments. On February 15, 2022, Biles and her now-husband, Owens, revealed that they were engaged in a post on social media that included the football star getting down on one knee.

Let’s fast forward to the 22nd of April, 2023: the happy pair decided to be married and are now legally considered husband and wife. Biles published a large number of photographs and videos from the event. She said that she was “officially” an Owens in one of them. In addition to this, Biles referred to her spouse as her “person, forever.”

Before the day of their wedding, Biles and Owens secured their marriage license and even went so far as to rehearse cutting the wedding cake. Additionally, Biles enjoyed a beautiful bridal shower.

It seemed as if Biles made the decision to have her wedding without spending an excessive amount of money on either the celebration or her attire. People magazine reports that Biles and Owens tied the knot in a courtroom, and the exact same week, Biles placed her order for her wedding dress. The price of her wedding dress was just under 120 dollars, and the price of her shoes was about 35 dollars, despite the fact that they typically sell for closer to 60 dollars.

Some would-be brides may have taken their cues for their wedding attire from Biles’ look, but the gymnast came under fire for how she presented herself on the day of her wedding. Others commented that her hair appeared “unkempt,” while still others said that she “should have laid her edges.”

Thankfully, a significant number of Biles’ supporters came to her defense and helped everyone remember what was truly important on that particular day. One person remarked on Twitter, “I didn’t even focus on Simone Biles hair, because she and her hubby look extremely happy on their wedding day and they did it their way.” Someone else stated:

“Simone Biles is one of THEE top gymnasts we have ever seen, and she has overcome situations of abuse and other obstacles in her childhood. She has defined her own success, and she has found love, and she is now happily married….” And all of you were concerned about her hair….?”

Even more recently, Biles responded to a tweet by saying, “i suppose people also forget that I reside in Houston, Texas, and that I sweat things out!! when we went outside to take pictures as soon as we could.” She went on to say that “but they can keep complaining idc idc idc.”

Even though it is disheartening to see that some people could have potentially ruined Biles’ happy day with their harsh comments, the gymnast has demonstrated that her love and happiness with her husband can overcome any obstacle.
