In response to the statements that Jimmy Kimmel made about the death of Charlie Kirk, ABC made the decision to suspend “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Kimmel’s words have drawn criticism from Hollywood, which is now coming out against the decision.

One of the first people to voice their opposition to ABC’s decision was Ben Stiller, who sent a tweet that said, “This isn’t right.”

Rosie O’Donnell, who is also an actress, posted a picture of Kimmel on her Instagram account and then made a scathing critique of the government of Donald Trump. She penned… “this is unacceptable – f**k this fascist administration and corrupt corporate executives – bowing to the orange monster – america is no more 🥲.”

Wanda Sykes, who is a comedian, made her opinions known to the public via Instagram video while also announcing that she had been invited to be a guest on “Kimmel” on Wednesday night. In addition, she took a shot at the president, saying something along the lines of, “Let’s see. He did not manage to bring a stop to the conflict in Ukraine or find a solution to the situation in Gaza throughout the course of his first week. However, he put a stop to freedom of expression during his first year in office. Hello, for those of you who engage in prayer, now is the time to do so. Jimmy, I love you.”

Chris Hayes, an MSNBC journalist, expressed a similar point of view in a tweet that said, “I have never in my life witnessed such a direct attack on freedom of speech by individuals acting on behalf of the government, and it is not even close to being the worst I have seen.”

Sophia Bush, who previously appeared on “One Tree Hill,” also protested by asserting that free speech is no longer a reality. In today’s United States of America, the First Amendment is no longer in effect. Period. The arrival of fascism is upon us, and it is terrifying.

The unexpected discovery also prompted many other people to speak out, including Don Lemon, Henry Winkler, Halsey, Alison Brie, and Christie Brinkley, among many more.

In addition, Jimmy received support from the Writers Guild of America West and Writers Guild of America East, who said in a written statement that, “Freedom of expression and the ability to dissent from one another—to even disrupt—are fundamental to the concept of a free society.” It is impossible to refute that. Neither by means of violence nor by actions of corporate cowardice nor by abuses of the authority of the government

They continued on their journey… If free speech only extended to concepts that we approve of, it would have been a waste of time to have it in the Constitution in the first place. The agreement that we have all signed on to, which allows us to disagree, might be difficult at times, but it is ultimately liberating.

The decision to discontinue “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” was also criticized by the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). Their statement included the following: “The freedom to express one’s opinions is essential to the survival of our society.” The basic rights that we all depend on are violated when free speech is suppressed and when those who speak out about important topics that affect the public are retaliated against.

The statement continued with the following: “The decision to suspend airing Jimmy Kimmel Live! is the type of suppression and retaliation that endangers everyone’s freedoms.”

In addition to that, demonstrators made their opinions known by putting up posters outside of the studio where Jimmy’s television program is filmed; these posters included accusations that Trump was a fascist.

In case you missed it, Jimmy’s program has been halted indefinitely as a result of his recent statements on the show concerning Charlie’s gunshot death, which both the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Nexstar Media Group, the owner of ABC, have taken issue with. The statement under consideration is the following: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

Jimmy has not spoken publicly in the aftermath of his show’s hiatus, but just after the decision was made, we saw him quickly walking to his car in a garage in Los Angeles. He did his best to maintain a straight expression.

Trump, on the other hand, was not at all serious about the news, and he went to his Truth Social platform to express his support for the decision.
