Madeline Galbreath’s father understood this perfectly and chose the most meaningful way to express it. At first, he playfully pretended he was about to sing Fleetwood Mac’s classic “Landslide,” even inviting the guests to join in for a few lines.
Then he revealed his real choice: Heartland’s tender ballad “I Loved Her First.” His heartfelt delivery of the song captured the very emotions many fathers quietly feel as they give their daughters away. The performance left the room in awe.
